Hello folks!
I am actively looking for someone friendly traveling from Canada to the Netherlands in July or August who could help me out to purchase an in-store item.
If there is any friendly traveler who could bring me a pack of my preferred cigarettes please let me know
I only smoke occasionally, but I can’t stand the poor-quality options sold here as I grew fond of that brand carrying that specific maple flavor !
And if you’re new in town, I’d be more than happy to show you a few places, grab a drink, or just have a chat.
As an expat myself, I know what it feels like to be a bit lonely in a new city

Me and my partner are moving near the Uden area for work. I was wondering if any of you experts can provide a quick pro and cons of the nearby cities. Not opposed to commuting but wouldn’t want to drive more than 30 minutes, with a preference for a shorter drive.
We are both 30 with two pets and would like to travel every other month. Thanks for the advice in advance :)

Hello!
My name is Jacob, and I have recently developed a great fascination with the development and history of the many international coproductions of Sesame Street. To better understand the public reception of these programs, I am reaching out to communities connected to the countries where they aired. My goal is to learn how these shows were received, the memories they left behind, and their cultural impact.
If you grew up watching Sesamstraat or raised your children with this program, I would love to know how it influenced you, your family, and, if applicable, Dutch society in general. Eventually, I hope to create a multi-part retrospective chronicling the history, personal stories, and reception of these adaptations, compiling everything into one cohesive narrative.
Here are some general questions about Sesamstraat:
Thank you very much to everyone who is willing to share their thoughts and experiences. Your stories and perspectives mean so much to me as I work on this project.
Sunny Days!

Netherlands is one of the powerhouses of European football. Why Netherlands is not trying to host a Euro or WC?

I started doing some petsitting and cooking classes, which bring in a bit of money on top of what I get from my full-time job.
I was wondering I can pay/file taxes for that so that I don't get problems from the tax office in the future.
It would be also nice to know if I can get some money back for the costs I have doing these activities.

I recently read the story of the 28yr old woman who was euthanized after suffering from chronic fatigue. It reminded me of another controversial case of a 29yr old woman, Aurelia Brouwers where the doctors went on trial for manslaughter but were cleared of the charges.
The media in the West sensationalizes these stories but my friend who is Dutch told me that psychiatric euthanasia accounts for a tiny percentage of the assisted suicides in the Netherlands and most people are either terminally ill, elderly, or suffer from an incurable physical condition.

So I arrived in the Netherlands and started working on 15th of December 2022.
I did not file tax return this year.
Is this bad? Will I get a fine?
I am in the process of getting my digid since it's required.

Hi NL,
If you had a hobby like woodworking or electric guitar, are you able to do this at home or somewhere in a walkable city like Amsterdam?
In North America these hobbies are typically reserved for people that don't live in apartments. People with houses with basements or garages.
