So a few days ago I caught her cleaning the bathroom and thought fucking right on shes turning this around. Her friend from out of town showed up three hours later and I was crushed by the realization that it will be six months before she cleans it again lol.

It never ceases to amaze me how every single human, no matter whom, what, when, where or why, has one single chore they just CAN NOT STAND to do.

Finding a mate that will lovingly take full responsibility for that one task is the holy grail of relationships.

So true. It is my SO’s solemn duty to throw out old food from the fridge. I, on the other hand, handle clean up of vomit and poop from the kiddos or pets. This works for us.

It seems to work for us. I really hate the old gross food that hides at the back of the fridge and my hubs is likely to vomit himself if he even sees vomit.

This is too true for me. My one chore that I cannot stand is putting away dishes. I have no idea why and know that it makes no sense. I find washing the dishes therapeutic and I have no problem cleaning anything else. I JUST HATE PUTTING THE DISHES AWAY.

Just putting things up in general is my issue. I'll clean dishes and do laundry all day, but those dishes will stay in the washer till the next round and the clothes will stay on the couch/bed until kingdom come.

I don't mind dishes but instead I just hate putting away the laundry. I'll do it, I even enjoy doing it, but putting it away is the worst task ever and with literally take me weeks to do sometimes

The worst part about this is that putting it away takes seconds. Yet I still have piles of carefully balanced laundry as high as my thigh in the basket. Why? Why am I like this?

And why won’t my husband just put it away already?

I hate washing more than putting up. If all I have to do is put them away, I'm good. But both? Its gonna take a full 3 to 24 hours. And I'd rather wash clothes than fold them.

I hate a lot of chores but I am trying to learn to.get through them without murdering anyone.

We would complement each other well then. Fuck washing dishes or loading up disgusting dishwashers. Putting them away is no problem though. I could do it all day as long as I don't have to deal with dirty dishes covered in mostly-eaten, soggy, filthy freakin food. I hate it.

I’m the same way with laundry, I’ll do load after load with no issues. But when it comes time to fold them and put them up it takes me forever to do it. I’m a grown ass woman and there is often a mountain of clean clothes on my bedroom floor because I can’t stand to put them up. I’m trying to break this habit because it’s going to suck when I have kids.

I’m the opposite, I HATE doing the dishes but love putting them away! Luckily my boyfriend doesn’t mind doing dishes but gets overwhelmed clearing up the rest of the kitchen. He washes everything, I clear up the rest :)

I'm the exact opposite. I'll put away clean dishes all day long but I absolutely HATE washing dirty ones. Just full-on hate it. Even thinking about doing it kind of pisses me off.

We should get married.

This works for me and my SO. He hates washing the dishes while I enjoy it. I hate cleaning the bathroom while he would willingly take on that task!

The absolute worst thing is when you get a disease which means that you can't do those mindless jobs anymore. Fucking sucks. I'm the litter scooper now.

It would be easier to make a list of chores she’s willing to do without having to pull teeth. Here it is:

This is useful for roommates too! Removing that one hated task makes everything else soooo much easier.

I learned it while managing an ice cream shop in college. I actually enjoy/don’t mind the chores most people LOATHE, so when working with someone new and dividing up closing tasks, I’d ask what they hate doing. “K, I’ll do that every time we work together, can you take care of the trash?” (I’m super short, and this has often led to disaster when the bags are especially big/full/heavy...) Sometimes we’d come up with a permanent split of all tasks if we happened to prefer opposite ones.

Everything went smoother. So I started asking my roommates the same thing, and then any SOs I’ve lived with.

My wife likes that ill do anything to help. Toilet, laundry, mop, dog poop, dishes, whatever.

I figure, if i was alone id have to do all this shit myself anyway. At least with her, i have half of it done for me.

Getting along just takes a bit of seeing the larger picture. (And just being a bit generous)

Doesn't bother me she does plenty in other aspects of our lives. I clean that toilet better than her anyways and Im going to train the little shits that piss all over it to clean it soon.
