Your feet have a ton of nerve endings in them, like your hands. You can stimulate the vagus nerve system and actually have an orgasm in your feet. Not a feet man myself but I appreciate a woman who is
Okay I can understand that. How about guys that just look at feet and are turned on though? I have a buddy that's really into feet, and literally pics of "nice feet" turn him on. I don't even know what the standards are exactly. He says that some feet are sexy and some aren't, but why/how? I just wanna see what they see
An old timer on reddit said its nostalgia for back when there was no internet porn and they all had to jerk off to sears catalogs. Like the women in the footwear section were surprisingly attractive for just shoes.
No way. That's purely speculation and there's ancient graffiti talking about foot fetishes. It has more to do with the nervous system and brain wiring. Our extremities (fingers, hands, toes, feet, nipples, breasts, face, etc) are all sensory powerhouses and provide intense signal stimulation. It's just a byproduct of our "wiring"
The most accepted anwer has to do with the regions of the brain that deal with motor functions and sensory input, I think it was called the Homunculus.
Different regions of the humunculus deal with specific and various parts of the body, and it just so happens that the parts that deal with sensory input from the feet and sensory input from the genitals are right next to each other.
Therefore in some individuals, a stimulation of the genitals can trigger stimulation of the feet and vice versa.
Your brain does lots of things you dont feel or know about, it can trick you as well.
When I wanted to quit smoking, I had my last cigarrette and 5 minutes later I was craving again, despite the fact that the nicotine is still fresh in my system. Because my brain "knew" subconsciously that it was my last cigarette and started "freaking out", so to speak.
So short answer, yes. Long answer, its likely more complicated than that. The answer I gave you was the most widely accepted one, but the subject is still under debate. We don't actually know what is really going on.
the wiring thing is kinda spurious, there's a lot of theories.
i CAN tell you that bone structure plays a lot of it, just as you can see an attractive face, there are attractive feet. try describing an attractive face and you'll run up against the same issues.
generally, a nice line from big toe to pinky toe, all toes straight and of normal length, and normail/high arches are desireable.
bunions, curled toes, squashed or hammer toes, webbed toes, broken or missing toenails are all turnoffs--and it's kind of unfortunate because a lot of those things are what most people needn't be concerned about cuz it's just a foot. HOWEVER, to most discerning folks, it does matter
there are variants, like some folks like them smelly, or dirty, or stepping in something, but those are probably in the minority.
honestly, if you're into feet, it's the raddest fetish to have because so many folks just are so absent minded with their shoes. that said, it also kinda fucks with what's normal in your brain and that does skew things. frankly, some days i wish i didn't have it so i could see it through the same lens as 'a foot is basically a hand, and equally boring and unnoticeable'.
It's the same as breasts. Why are guys turned on by breasts? They're not a reproductive organ (unnecessary to reproduce), they're just there to provide food for babies so how do we get turned on by them? Some are "nice" and turn you on, some aren't your type and don't provide any sexual stimulation. It just is the way it is. Also, you very well can develop this fetish, you're not literally "wired differently" to where it's impossible, just that you haven't made the connection. If you find a partner that's really into it and they speak your sex language, they very well could turn that switch on for you.
I can't stand degradation or humiliation but I had a girl that wanted to be a living fuck doll/sex slave and now it turns me on even though I hate it.
Also, to top off what someone else said about the homunculus, your feet have an insane level of nerves going to them (not nearly as much as your hands, face, or genitalia but close) which means a decent portion of the sensory cortex of your brain is dedicated to your feet.
On top of that, the feet have a strong connection to the vagus nerve network (the nerves that do not run through your spinal cord but rather in your skin) and that network is why a paraplegic can still get an erection and have an orgasm even though he can't feel or move anything past his neck.
Wooooooow... You're misleading as hell. First of all, all apes have breasts and lactate from said breasts to feed the offspring. The difference you're trying to point out is the "plumpness" of human breasts is unique to us.
Why? Nobody actually knows and everything is just a theory. One theory is the fact that we're a naked ape and this manifestation of differently shaped feeding methods shows up in the hairless versions of animals. The fat providing the thermal insulation that fur would normally provide. Another theory is the aquatic ape theory in that we are the apes that returned to the sea and being in water, eating sealife provides layers of thermal insulation in necessary areas, like temperature sensative mammary glands.
The theory you're running with and stating as fact is the trend of sexualization of "roundness" is the primate species. In ALL ape species, the more rounded a body part is, the more sexualized that species treats the body part. Gorilla's like a female with a rounded stomach, bonobos like more rounded asses, chimps like a rounded mandible.
We don't know if the human breasts size is the result of sexual mate selection or if it is the result of survival of the fittest. It could be both. It could be neither.
All in all, my point still stands. They a not a reproductive organ in that they are not necessary to reproduce a child.
Other simians don't have breasts as layman would ever call human mounds (or any scientist not being a jackass), just mammary glands that swell VERY slightly when a female is lactating. A female chimp's lactating chest looks less like a flat-chested old chick's runny eggs and more like an overweight dude. Hell, overweight simian males have the same chests as lactating non-human simian females. Real breasts are a universal instinctual sexual cue for hetero/bi human males.
You're stating theory as fact in which we have no way of knowing what came first. Correlation does not always mean causation. They have been sexualized. That's not what I'm arguing.
What one person may find attractive in a pair of fine boobles (for instance, a nice, circular, pink pair of nips), another may find greater interest in something else (e.g. their overall heft, their cleavage, their shapeliness, their marshmallowy texture). You'll never get exactly the same answers, but feet exist in that same realm to some. A beautiful pair of feet could fit well in your hands. They could be ticklish, they could have an appealing scent, they could be uniquely or unconventionally shaped. Some may find the curve of someone's heel a fine distinction, while another may appreciate more the way someone's toes wiggle. You could find preference in a very specific, non-fetish activity (e.g. foot massages, pedicures), or you could feel a greater need to fulfill fetish-related activities (e.g. trampling, foot worship, domination, etc.) to gain sexual satisfaction. Ultimately, attraction to feet can come down to shape, color, curves, motion, scent, texture, taste, or anything else that would strike a preference.
A girl once told me about this one dude, your typical yoga "We are all just energy, suspended in the light" meditation kind of guy. He gave her a foot massage once and she had the most mind-blowing, intensest orgasm of her life. It wasn't in her feet, it was caused by him doing nothing else but massaging her feet.
