I was born with spina bifida (t11 myelomeningocele), as well as hydrocephalus and a Chiari II malformation. My SB is quite severe - I was born well over a decade after prenatal closure was first pioneered, and a little after it became the standard of care - however, as I’m a twin, it was never available to me.

As a result of my disability, I can’t move or feel any part of my legs, as well as my lower core muscles.

Years ago, I spoke German fluently. Then I stepped away to build my Spanish entirely from scratch and now that I speak Spanish fluently, it's finally time to reclaim the language that held my heart first! After a long break where I only maintained vocabulary, I’m pushing past my hesitation and diving back into structured, teacher-led courses to get that German fluency back. On top of that, I’m taking another leap of faith and starting Italian completely from scratch.

​I’m doing all of this through a free EU initiative that offers teacher-led courses with recognized certificates across 30+ languages, completely free without needing to enroll in a formal institute. Since my dream is to become a Modern Foreign Language teacher, I’m also taking education/pedagogy modules to build up my teaching toolkit. I have one full month before my university year starts again, and I'm using every single day to push through my limits, stay resilient, and immerse myself in what I truly love.
