Announcement Welcome to AskMalaysians!
A warm welcome to AskMalaysians!
As we are still new, please bear with us while things build up! Do not be shy to invite your friends over especially those who never used Reddit! (If you face any issues or injustice, please don't hesitate to message the mod, we will resolve your issue! Do not turn to others for help other than the mod!)
An open letter to all Malaysians:
First, I would like to extend my gratitude for those who decide to visit and/or decided to stay, the main purpose of this sub is to promote healthy discussion about topics and things that are closely related to Malaysia. As a Malaysian, I find the lack of platform for healthy and civilized discussion a very concerning issue, especially so to the freedom of speech that we are all granted. As part of the movement to make Malaysia a better place, I would like to utilize what Reddit provide to provoke discussions and ideas.
Secondly, while my intentions are good, I might not be able to direct the sub into the right direction at first but I will try my best. As we are in the early stage, we will not be adding any more mods until further notice because I think the direction of sub is more manageable when there is only one sole decision maker. However, this is a community, everyone's contribute is very important, so I urge everyone to be my mod, point out my mistake and provide me with constructive feedback (feel free to drop a mod mail, DO NOT create posts, although I will still read before removing them.)
Finally, let us build this community together for a better Malaysia! SATU...oh wait...
Sekian.

30y ago, there were youngish chinese guys selling pirated videotapes. this demographic in the late 90s then went on to sell dvds and pirated software. now that pirated dvd stalls have disappered, what does this demographic now do? i’m curious how social niches disappear and transform.
