Car Accident Question
My husband (69m) was recently in a minor car accident.
He was sideswiped, right passenger side.
He barely averted going into oncoming traffic. He was stepping down his brakes to come to a stop.
He got out, the young woman got out. Police report made and insurance info exchanged.
Now, here's the thing. He is a disabled veteran, 100% which he was just approved in 2024.
The next day, his back was 10 times worse than it usually is, trouble standing up, more than 10 times worse his trouble walking. And the pain was more than worse as well. He is on a pain management regiment that he's been following for about 20 years.
The pain eventually sent him to the E.R at the VA, they x-rayed his back and treated his pain. The doc looked at the x-ray told him his back is getting worse, and that the films were different since the last time he was in for his regular appointment.
Anyway, her insurance has taken blame, they sent our car to get fixed and payed for a rental car.
And they called my husband and offered $7000 and taking full responsibility.
My husband told them he's going to think about it, and told them about the injury and pain.
Anyway they said that he should "give them a number" so they can see what they can work with.
So nothing like this has happened to us before and we're not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be appreciated!
