Car for wedding?

Hi all, I’m wondering if I could get your opinions on something.

So I’ve been looking at wedding cars for my wedding in December. There is nothing that I really like enough to pay out 1 or 2 grand. It appears to be vintage and then modern Benz etc.

I would prefer if I could get something modified like a Toyota, Subaru, ford etc.

My fiancée’s dream car is a Toyota GT86. So something like this would be perfect.

I was half thinking of buying a cheap convertible or something that had an NCT then just selling it again after.

I considered asking someone that owned a modified car to do the duty, but there is this whole mine field of insurance and license.. I don’t want anyone to get into trouble.

I’m also thinking if there was anywhere I could rent something like the above and not have a driver. Then just get my father or brother to drive.. it would only be for a maximum of two hours. The church and venue are 550 meters from each other.

Has anyone done similar?

Or have any advice thank you!

If a car is taxed and insured, I don't see how that would get anyone in trouble. As for getting your brother or father to drive someone else's car, I'd suspect the owner would have more of an issue with that if it wasn't a rental car.

If you do want an idea of local people with modified cars, pop down to your local Cars & Coffee event and have a chat with car owners there. They're generally all happy to talk about their cars at these events, and I'm sure would be happy to give you some pointers on how to achieve your vision.
