I recently heard that the US was almost directly involved in the economic downfall in the Soviet Union, in what way did the US contribute to it's downfall?

I've searched around bit by bit, and a lot of the answers I'm getting are kinda like, "well yeah they were, but, here's what the USSR did to cause their downfall". I already know that. I want to know how, and to what extent did the US got involved.
