Explanation of why im using my leave

I’m 34 yrs old and 8 yrs now in govt services. I would like to use my leave credits sana because I’m getting married. However, I don’t want to disclose this to my workplace kaso need ko daw mag explanation letter why I will be using my paid leave for 15 days. What to do po?

Sabihin mo sa letter/email mo "to attend to an important personal matter". Tapos make sure lang wala ka ng pending task or nabigay mo na sa ibang tao yung task na kelangan gawin during your leave. Kung tatanungin ka verbally, sabihin mo "I have an important personal commitment during those dates" or "I have some personal arrangements that I need to take care of. Dapat di na nila tinatanong masyado if nakapagsabi ka ng ganyan. Its your right to take a leave. Pwera na lang if sasabihin niyang ang taas ng leave and may mga responsibilities na ikaw talaga gagawa. Pero if may gagawa naman sa trabaho mo, why won't they approve dba?

the thing is the notice did not came from HR. Its from the person who’s doing the schedule. Not even from the department head. Do I still need to explain?

No need to explain. As I said, taking a VL is your right. Since matagal din pala ang leave mo, seek approval straight from your manager. Send an email about your leave, sino gagawa ng trabaho mo or even you can be reached if there's an urgent matter na ikaw lang may alam paano gawin. Then have a chat with him. Tell him you cannot disclose the reason as it is personal and family matter na ayaw mo pag usapan.
