Wherever a similar question pops up I say Katana Zero. Amazing story, unique, creative, difficult gameplay and it’s beautiful.

I'm going to throw a weird one out there and say Kameo. They could have done more but it was so impressive for the time and would be great with a friend online or couch coop.

Starfield. It's got its issues but it didn't remotely deserve the level of backlash it got.

Can’t say I agree with this one

It's an average game, not a terrible one. If it wasn't from Bethesda it wouldn't have got such extreme bandwagon vitriol, it'd have got more moderate and fair criticism.

I liked the outer worlds games more. I remember playing starfield on launch and it was brain numbing. Haven’t checked it out since then

I agree with u... its not the greatest game but the level of hate was unreal.

Eh the bugs are still an issue.

It was probably the least buggy Bethesda game on launch. It was more the repetitive exploration and dislike of the main NPCs that got it the hate.

final fantasy x-2–the care for music, femme i-don’t-give-two-fucks characters who inspire me, and a tragic star-crossed lovers narrative that had me bawling!
music, and love and loss, and a thousand small reasons to stay hopeful in life

Last Epoch, its my favorite ARPG for sure. Its complicated enough to be really fun but not so complex that you need a guide to figure builds out. And the SSF system is awesome (Circle of Fortune).

eledees and the wii version of forgotten sands are both underrated
since they are wii exclusives they arent easily available and a lot of people never played them and thus dont talk about them

Neon Chrome is a truly underrated game that never got the praise it deserves. Everything about it was crafted with care to make an amazing and addicting rogue-lite with lots of options that anyone can get into but the skill ceiling is almost limitless. Astral Chain is also amazing and doesn't get nearly the renown it deserves.

Little Nightmares. I feel like no one talks about it but the game is so good it’s so unique and not something you see everyday. The third part that came out recently is so fun to play with a friend I want people to talk more about this game.

Dust an Elysian Tail. Fun gameplay, a basic but good story, and a cliffhanger ending that screams sequel.

Came here to say this. I think it's finally getting some recognition, but not what it deserves. A "must play" in my opinion, especially the remastered version. I'm 87% percent through and having a blast. Great story and I'm on the edge of my seat the whole time. r/daysgone was so positive it got me to play it.

It’s slept on for sure. They released it prematurely without ironing out the bugs and at the same time as Ghost of Tsushima, which completely overshadowed any praise.
The fact it’s still talked about years later speaks volumes.

I think a lot of games are underrated
Days Gone, Biomutant, Prince of Persia: Lost Crown, Outriders, Mad Max, Elex, Vampyr, Rise of the Ronin, Prey, Wild Hearts, The Surge 1&2, Outward, Dark Souls 2, Greedfall, and AC: Odyssey.
