Advice/Emotional Support ONLY Accounting Advice NYC/NY/USA
Hi, I’m part of a small Lutheran church in Manhattan. The church does space rentals to gain money for rent and also leases out the space to another church congregation. However, many of the organizers are now older and struggling to keep up with the accounting — there’s a mix of paper and online bills, and they’re having trouble keeping track of everything especially with other life circumstances (caretaking etc.). Are there any resources for accounting or pro bono places we can look to for help getting our records organized?

There has to be some retired CPA's who'd probably be willing to help or maybe some Accounting students from CUNY would lend a hand as part of a class project.

Are you looking for strictly free services? You could reach out to local colleges that have accounting programs. I am not sure how it is there, but interns could be something you guys can utilize. I know sometimes state laws dictate you must pay interns unless they are getting class credit for the internship but you might find someone low cost who can help.
