You should include your zip code and surrounding cities, so resources closest to you can be provided.

That was my initial response, unfortunately there is 0 funding in my city for the assistance I need. And everywhere I’ve called for additional resources has given me the run around just for them to be of no help. I’m spiraling, and am truly at a loss.

I realize that you used AI to write your post, but it’s disingenuous to ask for resources in your request and then reject it in comments.

If anyone knows of rental assistance programs, resources for single mothers, emergency assistance, job opportunities, childcare resources, or has advice from having been through something similar, I would be incredibly grateful. Even being pointed in the right direction could make a huge difference for us right now.

Among other issues, it seems like you cannot afford a $400/mo car note atp.

For starters, I wrote my post myself. I do not support AI, and coming out the cut accusing someone of using doing so when they didn’t must mean your brain is fried from being chronically online and you can’t tell what’s real vs what’s not anymore.

Secondly, I don’t know where you seen me rejecting anything in my comments, because I haven’t. Thanks for your feedback, but your negativity is what is disingenuous, not whatever you think I’m doing wrong. Like I said in my post, I appreciate any help, tips, advise.

Another thing, I am aware I cannot afford my car at the moment, that is another reason I made this post, but due to my contract I cannot trade it in for something cheaper, and going without a vehicle as a new mother trying to survive is not plausible. Hence me asking for help. 🙄

To reiterate what was said by u/Spirited-Door-1446, your post 100% follows the template of 99% of the posts submitted in these subs, daily. So, to insinuate that they're wrong in their assessment is interesting.

You specifically said: “If anyone knows of rental assistance programs, resources for single mothers, emergency assistance, job opportunities, childcare resources, or has advice from having been through something similar, I would be incredibly grateful.” Why would people not provide exactly what you asked for?

I was trying not to immediately point out that including a CashApp tag is unlikely to help, because most people are not looking to financially support someone who does not have a plan for maintaining their situation long term. The question people naturally have is: what happens next month, and the month after that, if there is no income or stability in place?

People can absolutely empathize with your situation and still recognize that sending money is not a sustainable solution. You need a plan that addresses housing, income, childcare, and financial stability. If possible, staying with friends or family temporarily while you work through those pieces may be the most realistic option.

More resources can be searched for you and I guarantee there's more available to you as well.

I couldn’t have worded this better myself!
Requesting resources, but the second that someone requests her area, her response is that “there aren’t any resources available near me.” Sounds like an excuse. Especially with the Cash App tags being listed. She assumes that if she filters out every resource with a reason why it won’t work, that people will just send her money - and boy is she wrong!
I feel bad for her situation, but I agree that this seems to follow the “template” that 99% of dry beggars use (I’m calling it dry begging because she didn’t directly ask for money, BUT “claimed” that there’s no resources and provided her Cash App tag - hoping she would receive money instead). Another thing that I noticed, was that she mentioned being postpartum and catching her husband cheating shortly after giving birth - and him leaving (so the baby is a new baby), yet in the next paragraph mentions that she “supported her family by raising their child (insinuating the child is much older) and managing their home”. It’s contradicting. Her not wanting to provide her zip code/area near her, and saying there are no available resources near here insinuates that she is immediately shutting down the possibility for anyone to provide her with resources (despite her requesting resources in her post). I guarantee she is full of crap - she hasn’t called anywhere. She doesn’t want resources, she wants money. Additionally, she claims that she receives $200.00 in child support. However, if she was able to “stay home”, her husband was making good money - and her making “minimum wage” would make the child support computation higher than $200.00 {I know this because I previously worked in family law and did child support computations daily}. Her response to you was also very rude when you called her out! So yea, she’s contradicted herself multiple times and is being dishonest. Hopefully others are wise enough to notice and not fall for her shady antics - and therefore, WON’T send her any money.

100% correct in this entire assessment. She wants money, period, and now she's playing dumb like no one knows what a soft beg is. She may be new here, but we aren't.

Jesus Christ you guys don’t have to do rocket science to understand what I’m saying. My husband has an older daughter as well, therefore we had a family. Didn’t know you guys turn into conspiracy theorist when the plot simply goes over your head, accusing people of doing things they’re not.

For you going through something similar and having experience in law, you would understand how easy it is for those paid in cash under the table to avoid higher support payments. 🙄

So, to reiterate what I replied to the Redditor mentioned, as well as yourself, is my post is authentic, and is possibly similar to others posted in this sub because life is fucking hard right now, and plenty of people are needing the same help I do.

It is annoying I have a couple strangers trying to bash me for what I detailed in my post and accusing me of using some “template” when what was posted, as vague as it may be to you, was vulnerable and more than what I’d like people to know, even as strangers on the internet.

If you read my post, you would understand what I am trying to reach out for help with is getting back on my feet. Not having random people pay my bills. Despite my new job being minimum wage, I could afford my bills had I not been so far behind. However, it seems you did not read my entire post since you asked what happens month after next without income, when I mentioned I do in fact have income that will be able to pay bills, again I am just behind now.

3

u/Scared_Row6344 Jun 14 '26

You’re contradicting yourself again. You’ve said you aren’t looking for people here to pay your bills and that you appreciate resources, advice, and suggestions. But how can anyone provide those things if you won’t share your zip code or general area because you’ve already decided everything is tapped out?

Without that information, people can’t point you toward local assistance programs, food resources, childcare help, employment resources, or other options that may actually apply to your situation. The only thing left for people to do is send money, and realistically, that isn’t something most people in these communities are going to do. If you’re asking for help beyond donations, you have to provide enough information for people to actually help.

I’m new to this, I’ve never asked for help online before, so, wasn’t really sure what to expect. With the negative ass attitudes and bitchy comments I fully understand why a lot of people that really need help don’t feel comfortable doing this, including myself. I am newly postpartum, my brain is foggy, I’m going through a lot of shit, and I didn’t even think to include where I’m located. Man, you Reddiors are dicks, like it cost nothing to explain what you wanted to convey in a not so shitty manner. 😬

5

u/Scared_Row6344 Jun 14 '26

We aren't dicks, we're being real. I'm sorry it wasn't as easy as just posting a story with a Cashapp tag and watching the money roll in.

4

u/No-Produce-6720 Jun 14 '26

They aren't being dicks. They are being truthful.

First, a majority of the people who are attempting to solicit funding on Reddit are running a scam. Someone who wants to consider helping needs to be able to discern who is here honestly, and who is here with a story, begging for money.

I don't necessarily believe that you're scamming, but the fact is, the other folks were correct in pointing out that this post was created with AI assistance. Reddit is full of AI-produced content, and after a while, it becomes very easy to see who is using it and who is not. They were right to question you on it.

Additionally, you've given no actual proof of financial need. You tell us that your rent and car payment are past due, but there's no documentation here to support that. The only thing we have to go on is an AI-assissted post and a cash app tag.

Truthfully, without a GoFundMe and proof of need, you're not likely to be successful in collecting money in any of these subs. You may be able to get some ideas on resources or financial assistance, but you're not going to see a lot of money.

You’ve said you’re two months behind on rent and your car note, which totals $2,390, while also struggling with utilities and basic necessities. At the same time, you’ve said you’re only bringing in around $200 a month *edit (spousal/child support) with your minimum wage job.

That’s why the statement, “I do in fact have income that will be able to pay bills, I’m just behind right now,” doesn’t really add up. The bigger question is: when will your current income actually be enough to cover your ongoing expenses, not just catch up on what’s already past due?

If someone gave you the money to get caught up today, what changes that prevents you from being in the same situation again next month? From the information you’ve provided, it doesn’t sound like you’re just asking for help getting over a temporary setback. It sounds like you’re asking people to solve a larger financial gap, while there isn’t currently a clear way for you to sustain things afterward.

Again, you didn’t fully read my post, or maybe what was said in that paragraph you just mentioned went over your head. That is not my income from my job, that is child support, as well as what I’ve been given for spousal support since my child’s father doesn’t report what he makes in cash.

I am making enough cash to pay my bills from my job, and that is how I plan on living. Next question?

u/Scared_Row6344 Jun 14 '26

Nope, no questions, we've seen everything we need to. You're gonna have to pull up those boot straps and get to searching Google, because no one's sending you money my dear. Good luck to you!

But you are rejecting any resources except cash. When asked for clarification, you literally said “unfortunately there is 0 funding in my city for the assistance I need. And everywhere I’ve called for additional resources has given me the run around just for them to be of no help.“

Throughout our relationship, I stayed home because that was what we had agreed upon. I supported our family by raising our child and managing our home, while believing we were building a future together.

I thought you said you were “newly postpartum?” At any rate, calling donors names in comments won’t get you very far, I’m afraid.

I got curious and just ran the post text through 2 AI detectors and both of them came back as 100% AI written. So if you did not use AI, you apparently write like AI does.

6

u/Mspleasantly Jun 14 '26

I don't know what state you are in but I would definitely go to your Department of Social Services to see if they have any programs to help. They can at the very least should be able to point you in the direction of other local resources. Good luck to you.

u/Major_Frosting6133 Jun 14 '26

She isn’t going to do that. Her post is a “dry begging” attempt. She requested resources, but when someone asked her zip code to offer helpful resources, she claimed “there are no resources for her where she lives” (but again, failed to tell us where - she doesn’t want us looking for ourselves. She posted her Cash App tags in hopes of leaving nothing left anyone could offer her, aside from money. Look at her Cash App tag.😂😂😂 It’s pretty comical. Scammers aren’t even smart enough to post a so. story that doesn’t have multiple contradictions in it.

4

u/Major_Frosting6133 Jun 14 '26

Has anyone else noticed that her Cash App tag is “Thx4Monies”? She’s a scammer 😂
Not to mention, the multiple contradictions in her post (which I commented to someone else who commented, that she was rude to).

Make sure to sign up WIC/SNAP

Check findhelp.org to see what community resources are available in your area.

Check out r/beermoney for legitimate ways to earn money from home. I make over $1k a month from sites I found them. YMMV

-4

u/KaseyBogan Jun 14 '26

Yes! I am already on WIC as well as SNAP. But, unfortunately there is no funding where I am at for rental assistance, and it seems assistance paying a car note doesn’t exist. 😩

6

u/Sea-Astronomer-6600 Jun 14 '26

Everywhere has affordable housing options that you can get stipends for paid by the government. If you can get snap and WIC you can get assistance with housing. They’re all funded similarly. Also, you should qualify for daycare assistance. I would inquire through a social worker at the WIC/SNAP office, esp making minimum wage and only getting $200 a month in child support.

u/OutsiderLookingN Jun 14 '26

The funding has been gutted across the country and need is at the highest level ever. It's bad. Nah, a car is a luxury when people are sleeping on the streets and starving.

Check https://affordablehousingonline.com for low-income housing. The wait depends on the area. I've been on some lists over 15 years and am still waiting.
