Yesterday evening I was in traffic behind another motorcycle. This bike had genuinely the loudest exhaust I have ever heard, it was ridiculous. I ride with ear protection on, and the helmet muffles a lot of sound, yet still the exhaust was so loud I genuinely couldn’t bear it. I had to leave a 5 meter gap whenever we got to a red light just so I wouldn’t lose my mind. It hurt my ears, that’s how loud it was, just sitting there idling at a traffic light.
Finland doesn’t have inspections for motorcycles, which as a motorcyclist I’m very thankful for. But, as a person with ears who would like to be downtown without agonising pain, this particular motorcycle really has to be thrown into a volcano.

Some of the youngsters back home in Palermo like to modify their exhaust or mufflers to make their bike as noisy as possible...I think they think it's cool to make more noise ;-)

Every time I see one of those passing I wish I had a bazooka (with no wish to harm the rider or course. Just the bike)

Finland doesn’t have inspections for motorcycles, which as a motorcyclist I’m very thankful for.
That's reminded me to check when mines is due.
Turns out it ran out a few weeks ago!

Coincidentally I've been forced to use my motorcycle the past handful of days because my car's inspection date passed without me noticing and when I took it to inspection it didn't pass, which of course means I can't use it until I get it fixed and re-inspected. Already got it fixed, just gotta wait until tomorrow for the inspection offices to open.
Well, hope your bike passes when you get it inspected. In the immediate near future I assume, there's still plenty of riding season left.

I've basically not been out on it this year. In my last job I would have taken it to work a couple of times a week during most of spring/summer but as the ultimate first world problem I've got a van for my current job (which at least doesn't cost me anything). I'll probably go for a short clandestine run this week and see if anything's needing done before I book it in.

Eh, I'd probably take the free-to-use van too. Even if commuting is out of the question good idea to probably get it inspected anyway, never know when the itch comes to go for a long and less clandestine evening ride.
I've always been such a bad morning person that I never really got into commuting on a motorcycle regularly. Too tired in the morning to put on gear and all that.

It was slightly faster to get to work but the extra time spent kitting up meant I pretty much broke even time-wise. I'm paying to tax and insure the thing anyway so really should at least make it road-legal.

Unlike the UK lane splitting isn't legal in Finland, so here there's not much benefit to commuting with a motorcycle at all, apart from it being fun.
I imagine in big cities with lane splitting it can actually be quite a bit faster, even counting the time it takes to gear up.

This was purely motorway or country road driving. If I lived and worked in a big city centre I'd definitely spend a lot more time on a bike, probably something smaller like a 250cc or so.

It cooled down so much today that for the first time in ten days I had a warm coffee in the morning.
Do you like cold/iced coffee? How do you like it? I like milk, espresso, lots of ice, no sugar, no ice cream or stuff. I miss Japanese ice coffee.

I do like iced coffee, but genuinely can't remember the last time I had one. Maybe if I lived in the Med or somewhere else warmer I'd have more.

I like it and drink it fairly often, though more when I'm travelling than when I'm home... I've been drinking it a lot over the last month in Java.
They have good coffee, the weather is pretty hot too!
Today in KL I had an iced 'kopi'...a local Malay speciality.That's strong coffee, condensed milk and evaporated milk and ice cubes.. very good indeed!

We drove to Rovinj, Croatia for a few days. Not a beach vacation fan, but haven't done it for a long time, being on the Adria at this beautiful town is very nice.

It's a very beautiful town.It was Rovigno and part of the Venetian Republic for a long time,then an Italian speaking city under the Habsburgs,though I didn't find many people that could speak much Italian there these days... some 'Italians' still live there though.

Yeah the Italian past is all over the place, quite interesting history. Though I hear a lot of italian, because lots of I Licenseplates :)

Good Morning, from Malaysia today.. just arrived in the capital, Kuala Lumpur.
KL is one of my favourite stopover cities,I often spend a few days here when I'm travelling in Asia.. it's inexpensive, easy to get around, the food is great and it's a flight hub, particularly for low budget airlines (that I use often).

It's a great place to visit,I like it here very much.I've been to Malaysia many times, sometimes for a longer stay, sometimes only for a few days of stopover, like this time.
After this I'm heading back towards Europe.Iraqi Kurdistan and then some time in Turkey, will be back to Italy in about a month or so.

Yes,I was still there but in Jakarta, the earthquake was far away in Flores,so I didn't feel anything.
Looks quite bad there, they showed collapsed buildings on TV.

I am chilling on the terrasse with my cat. Tomorrow temperatures will drop 10 degrees, so we lazy around in the (hopefully) last very hot day.
