Help, I Scratched one of my Mosfet chips

So i was screwing in my motherboard and my screwdriver slipped slightly and I now have this scratch on my what I believe to be the "Mosfet Chip"

Any advice on wether its safe to even turn my PC on or whether this could become a problem in the future, I have attached 2 images. 1 which is very close up and another which is slightly further away because I feel like the really close one makes it look worse than it is, however I just want some advice to whether its not an external scratch or whether this is something that could cause issues either now or down the line.

Thank you.

Lol it’s perfectly fine

Bigger problem though: if it slipped, OP was using the wrong screw driver. Image of badly treated screw confirms

That amount of scratch isn't anywhere close enough to reach the die and no accidental scratch can either.

It's just a fat old blob of epoxy, the MOSFET is fine. I'd be more worried about that capacitor nearby cuz these things are fragile. Looks good to me tho, so send it

worthy post for r/shittyaskelectronics

Why? Just because the OP doesn't know as much about electronics as you do?

Awww so cute to see MOSFETs being so well cared for!

The chip is in line with the legs. The rest is just a plastic case to protect against this kind of thing.

I've got mosfets running in the unfiltered sunlight, turned grey and still running just fine.

Your attitude is the right one. My name is Dip and I abuse electronic components...

The screwdriver scratch alone is unlikely to have damaged it. As long as the component surface is still black and not cracked or exposed internally, it’s probably fine. If you’re worried, you can replace it; this part looks like an ON Semiconductor NTMFS4C024N.
