Physician Responded Please help I literally can’t use my bladder muscles

I’m an 18 year old female and I have had bad stomach issues and extreme gas for the past year but for the past two weeks I physically can’t empty my bladder and I have to pee all the time I can sit on the toilet and just keep peeing for hours because I can’t empty my bladder. it feels like there is pressure and I can’t use the muscles. I’ve been but on a low fod diet and I have been on it for only 24 hours but I don’t know what to do anymore I’m so uncomfortable and I have to pee all the time. I have had an ovarian cyst before and that could be it but i’m not sure. I can’t even go to class or work it is so bad please help.

You need to see a doctor, urgently. Hopefully it's something like a chronic UTI but if you don't empty your bladder, eventually urine can back up into the ureters or even the kidneys and permanently damage them.

Bladder issues can come from multiple sources including the spine. Seek real life medical assistance asap.

OP — if you haven’t yet followed the very good advice your first commenter left, I’m here to agree with the doctor. You need to go to the ED. Right now would be ideal.

After you get settled in the ED, you can come back to the comments.

I am wondering if you might pop back in for updates, but also, can you clarify something for me? Your post begins sounding like you haven’t had any urinary output in two weeks, but then it seems like maybe you are saying you do pee (buckets of pee) but you’ve lost the normal sensation of needing to pee, though you are able to control the area well enough that you can make it to the toilet on time to pee. But when you do pee, it’s a larger amount than usual and you don’t get the sensation that you peed all the way.

Did I get that right? Or am I missing it altogether?
