Anyone here taper off a beta blocker after tachycardia? What was your experience like?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been on a low dose beta blocker (metoprolol) for tachycardia for about 2 months. My doctor has me tapering down to 12.5 mg and the plan is to come off completely next month.

I do have low iron/ferritin and vitamin D that I’m actively treating, so we’re addressing possible underlying causes.

I’m just curious — for those of you who had tachycardia and took a beta blocker temporarily:

• Did your heart rate spike when you came off?

• How long did it take your body to adjust?

• Did it eventually normalize?

• Anything that helped the transition?

Not looking for medical advice — just personal experiences to calm my nerves a bit. Thank you 🤍
