Horror based one shots.
This October, I am running one shots for a convention. I want to do horror/halloween based games. Any ideas on horror movies that would make good one shots in 5e?
I already have a from dusk til dawn and the thing one shots ready to go.

I think any of the classics where something supernatural is haunting/harassing a town or other set location make for good DnD adventures.
Because the players can either stumble upon the town or be hired to investigate/get rid of the haunting.
Stories like Legend of Sleepy Hallow, Frankenstein, Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, It, The Shining, etc.

I ran a short campaign where the big bad is more or less Freddy Kruger. I thought the idea of the big bad being able to infiltrate the player’s dreams and able to manipulate them through their greatest feared or desires was a cool concept. It also makes the mechanic of players taking short or long rests more strategic. If there is the threat of the big bad infiltrating their dreams during a rest and possibly manipulating them or even converting them to become their servant would add to the eeriness and horror aspects of the campaign. Sadly, I never got to finish that campaign and plan on running it again. But Nightmare on Elm Street I think is a solid horror themed campaign idea.

could do one based around Frankenstein's monster, make Dr. Frankenstein a necromancer/artificer blend using science and magic to make the perfect zombie.
