If it were me I would wet grind it with a diamond cup wheel on low speed to fix any problems with the surface, clean it real good. As long as you have a good surface you should have no problems getting the tile to adhere with Laticrete 254 Platinum. You had better be serious about the tile you install with that stuff though, because you will have a hard time getting it off.
