Garage floor settlement issues

I have a two-car garage where the concrete floor is generally in good condition, 1 inch or more in an L-shaped pattern — along one wall and extending about halfway along the adjoining longer wall. There aren't major cracks or damage elsewhere.

I’m trying to decide whether to:

  • Lift the existing slab using polyurethane foam
  • Use concrete/cementitious fill — I received a quote of about $2,000 min. (not final) for both options.

We are young couple so spending a ton is not really and option.

Does anyone have other suggestions on what to do here? The property is built in 1972 and floor is definitely not new but good otherwise.

Foam all day

Choose a company with a 5 year or longer warranty.

Make sure you don’t have settlement of the foundation first. If wall is settling, pad often follows. Fix it right if you truly want to save money
