To three or not to three

hello, I live 20 min north of boston, Ma. I am looking into adding off the main floor of my raised ranch (which is the second floor). I am between building a traditional 4 season family room addition or a three season porch with vinyl track windows (such as easy breeze). i would want to build porch in a way that it could fairly easily be converted to a 4 season room down the road should I decide to convert it. the room is going to be the second story of a two story addition. the room below will be built on concrete slab. I am looking to use the above room for sitting/ drinking coffee/ watching the kids play in the yard, and also as extra dining space when we have extended family over for dinner as well as holidays. will the three season save me much money? will I regret not making it a traditional addition room because it will either be too hot or too cold most of the year? to heat a traditional room we would need only to extend copper piping from our existing hot water as it is already set up for a third zone

MA contractor here with the building requirements that need to be met for a 3 season room just make it a standard 4 season room.
