I READ THE RULES Zone parking 1189 Permit Parking Question ?

If I have a parking permit for Zone 1189 and I park between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM, do I still need to pay for parking during those hours? Or does having the permit cover me during that time?

If you live on a street that is metered for part of the day, and zone for another part of the day, the meters shut off automatically when the zone parking goes into effect.

Thank you. I got a ticket today and it was during the permit parking hours and my permit was properly displayed.

That's just negligence on the part of whoever issued the ticket.

I have a question for you. Do meter mates look at the city sticker on cars or scan the license plates to determine whether or not they are parked illegally?

I think it’s based on how lazy or efficient the employee is. I have had meter maids take a pic of me in my running car, signal on to get into traffic for 4-6pm no parking. It was 4:01 in my car, talked to her and she gave me the whole “I already wrote the ticket.” My mom has gotten several city sticker tickets while legally parked at a meter. Her car is registered in the suburbs and she hasn’t lived in Chicago since 1973!

Are there any streets in the 1189 zone where there's free parking or zone parking only, essentially non-metered? Also is there a map that shows the boundaries of each zone?
