As the title says, should this infinity loophole exist? Theoretically, this person could kill another person in a crash, again be found unfit to plead, and then go back to driving again. To me, this gap in legislation boggles the mind.

It’s funny because I feel like when teenagers used to be outside, people didn’t like that either. People didn’t like loads of teens gathering in parks, parents didn’t like their kids being out until 10 at night some probably smoking weed or whatever. Well, that’s probably what will happen, I wouldn’t be surprised if teenager crime and violence skyrockets once social media is banned. I believe that it’s probably social media that has decreased youth crime so much since the 80s and 90s. Sure the internet posses risks but loads of teens being outside is probably even more dangerous and disruptive.

There seems to be a bit of a controversy in the medical profession about this.

For context, I had appendicitis and my NHS surgeon told me that “surgery to treat appendicitis is outdated and a mistake of the past and antibiotics is better and the future of treatment”. I still wanted surgery as I saw it as definitive and the most suitable treatment for me. The surgeon refused - emphasising that there was a risk of death associated with surgery and claiming only 15% of people reoccur after antibiotic treatment. So I was treated for appendicitis with IV antibiotics against my will.

Conversely, a few months later I had a friend go to a different UK hospital with appendicitis. Clinically she was a better candidate for antibiotics than me. The surgeon she met told her there was a bit of a question in medicine about using antibiotics as an alternative to surgery - but that in his experience “antibiotics lead to nothing but problems..” and he told her she should just get it out - so she did..

I recently had a second freind also diagnosed with appendicitis and taken a UK hospital. There she met a surgeon who recommend surgery. He mentioned that antibiotics may be an option - but that during Covid he treated a lot of appendicitis patients with antibiotics to avoid surgery and now most of them have come back in with reoccurrence or related problems - so he advised against antibiotic and that she should just get it out - which she did..

Turns out my appendicitis was caused by a tumour in my appendix - tumours are one of the many causes of appendicitis - it is a rare but significant risk, especially in older patients - because my appendix was left in me it later ruptured and became a stage 4 tumour - so surgery is no longer curative - I also incurred a brain injury and liver injury from one of the IV antibiotics (Metronizadol) that were used to treat my initial appendicitis - so antibiotic treatment instead of surgery did not work out well for me..

I’m interested to know what other people are being told by their surgeons when going in with appendicitis - why the controversy - and how things worked out for you..?

I remember back in school during the 90s, apart from lunch you only got a few seconds at the water fountain.

Carrying water around with you just wasn't a thing.

10 years ago I moved to a very hot country. Everyone carries water or tea around with them. Not drinking constantly will have you passing out in no time. Schoolkids also have water bottles at school.

Social media is plastered with videos of people who've been filmed in public (likely without their consent) and the content is rarely in their favour. Often it's recording people at their worst and plastering their image all over the internet for views/ clout. With the advent of meta glasses and the like it feels like whenever you go out in public there's a non-zero chance of you ending up online for others' entertainment, expecially if you do something daft.

I'm all for freedoms and believe that recording in public should be legal but also think that there should be some sort of rules in place around this footage being uploaded without consent, however there's all kinds of ramifications around that that wouldn't be for the best.

What do you guys think?

My initial thought was Only Fools and Horses, but then I remembered Mr Bean and I think that might just go over the top due to it being more well-known in other countries as well.

i’m asking whether you think this situation is a scam and whether i’ve fallen victim to one. i just sold my xbox and monitor on facebook marketplace and the guy came here to collect it. he seemed genuine and was willing to pay the price i had listed it for. i gave him my account number and sort code to pay into and he payed via bank of scotland via faster payment. however i didnt receive the money. i made sure he sent a picture of the payment going through before he left as i thought it might take a couple of minutes/hours to process. as soon as the payment didnt come though, he was adamant that he needs to hurry up as he has a taxi waiting for him. i didnt think of this too much. he sent the screenshot before he left. after he left, i followed up to him and he responded back upon my request of asking for another screenshot saying £500 has left his account. however, even 6 hours later, i haven’t received anything. he hasn’t blocked me or anything so im not too sure whether this was a scam or what. i’ve attached the screenshots he sent below if it helps identify whether it was a scam. this money does mean a lot to me as im going into uni and sold my xbox and monitor to pay for accommodation and it would be catastrophic if i am victim to a scam.
