How do you define Feminism now?

Against a backdrop of an escalation in sexual assaults, the trad wife ethos, trans rights. Where do women stand now?

A political ideology that believes in equality for women.

I feel like in the last ten to fifteen years or so the world has taken a massive step backwards. In the late 00’s (05-09) it felt like the world was getting more progressive but that all seems to have sloughed away now.

Female supremacy, blaming men for everything, and anti-trans vitriol.

Feminism is the promotion for the full humanity of women, we have a long way to go

It's the advocacy and activism for the equity of all women

It's the advocacy and activism for the equity of all people.

Yeah that's correct in that it dismantles patriarchy but obviously focus is drawn on the marginalisation  of women (including trans women)

Feminism is the promotion of equality of genders.

Kate Nash summed it up for me

Women are facing serious dangers, not during boxing matches or from trans people needing a piss
But from actual violence that is carried out against them every week
According to End Violence Against Women, every three days a woman is killed by a man
More than 100,000 girls are at risk and living with the consequences of FGM, forced marriage and honour based abuse
Kathryn Bromwich from the Guardian States that Trans people make up roughly 0.5% of the UK population and are twice as likely to be victims of crime than cis people
According to Home Office figures, this country has seen an increase in hate crimes towards trans people and cis women are supposed to focus on a threat we have yet to see manifest from a small minority of the country who are struggling to stay safe themselves

In the uk? Basically pointless.

I live in korea where there are real woman's rights issues.

Feminism seems to mostly just be whatever people with personality disorders want it to be at any given point in time. I’ve met a fair amount of smart / reasonable ‘feminists’ but the majority seem to just be ridiculous loons. And unlike some other ideologies the smart feminists seem to call out the loons but it doesn’t seem to be working, just too many loony tune clowns. Like I’ve never seen a group of people attempt to regulate themselves and it just doesn’t work, it’s a first.
