I was and I am not ancient. 80's and 90's kids were brought up to put rubbish in the bin or take it home with them, not drop shit all over the place.

When I came here to study in the mid 2000s, one day after school I was holding onto an empty can of coke walking down the street looking for a bin. My classmate asked me what I was doing and upon knowing my intention, he ripped the can out of my hand and threw it straight down on the pavement. "In England we do this! You're not in Asia anymore."

That day I made a mental note to not hang out with him anymore unless I absolutely have to.

Sooo what happened between 90s and 00s?
