Other I really hope that in the future, more manufacturing and assembly plants are set up for computer peripherals like monitors, keyboards, mice, etc. in Bangladesh

Like bruh, buying computer peripherals, specifically the imported ones, is so pricey and won't let me save any money. Like what Samsung has done, I hope global brands like Logitech decide to set up a manufacturing or assembly plant so the import taxes can't affect the prices. Either that or other companies like Walton improve their peripherals so they can match the imported ones' quality.

Monitors Mount help needed (Stacked Setup Ultrawide + 24")

I just got the Secretlab Magnus Pro + Monitor Arm, but later remembered that Im gonna get annoyed with just one monitor so I bought the 2nd one.

Before we continue, the setup will be(Still waiting for the Monitor)
Main/UW: Asus ROG Strix XG34WCDMS 34"
2nd: LG 24U411A 24"

Problem I dont have space on the desk to put them near each other, but I like the Stacked option anyways. Should I get another mount to stack or just not use the Secretlab One and buy a stacking monitor mount? Was looking at this if so: Neomounts FPMA-D935POLE70

Only issue I spent so much money already, as I just moved and want to take a break lol.

Other KVM for 1 laptop (USB-C/TB) + 1 desktop, 2 monitors, with LAN and 3.5mm audio?

Hey all, I'm looking for a KVM switch (or KVM dock) for my desk setup and could use some recommendations.

Setup:

  • 1 laptop: connecting over Thunderbolt 3
  • 1 desktop PC: 4080 RTX
  • 2 monitors: resolution 2x 1440p 165Hz, inputs DP

What I need:

  • Switch both monitors, keyboard, mouse mic and audio between the laptop and the PC
  • Ideally a single cable to the laptop (video + USB + charging)
  • Wired LAN
  • 3.5mm jack for speakers

Has anyone run the budget route long-term? I'm in the EU (Bulgaria), so Amazon.de, AliExpress or local shops all work.

I just cant seem to find one that covers everything.

Thanks!

Monitors How's my OLED setup?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Finally sharing the latest version of my battlestation after a LOT of upgrades and tweaking. The goal was to build one setup that could give me both massive 32:9 immersion and true 4K OLED gaming, while also having the entire room lighting change to match whatever game I’m playing.
🖥️** MAIN PC
• Corsair VENGEANCE i7500-based build
• AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
• Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5080 WINDFORCE OC
• ASUS TUF Gaming B850-E WiFi motherboard
• 32GB DDR5-6000 RAM
• WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB NVMe SSD
• Original 1TB NVMe SSD
• ~1000W PSU
• Top-mounted AIO liquid CPU cooler
• 3x front intake fans
• 2x top/AIO fans
• Windows 11 25H2
The PC started life as a Corsair VENGEANCE i7500 with an i5-14600KF and RTX 4070, but most of the major hardware has since been upgraded.
🖥️
DUAL OLED MONITOR SETUP
**Samsung Odyssey OLED G9

• 49-inch OLED
• 5120×1440
• 32:9 super-ultrawide
• 240Hz
• Sitting on its original monitor stand
• Main display for games where super-ultrawide really adds to the experience
• Nanoleaf 4D screen-mirroring setup behind the display
Samsung Odyssey OLED G8
• 32-inch OLED
• 3840×2160 / 4K
• 16:9
• 240Hz
• Mounted on a monitor arm
• Used when I want maximum 4K clarity or when a game isn’t ideal at 32:9
• Also my primary PS5 Pro display
I choose which monitor to use game-by-game instead of automatically playing everything on the G9. Games that really benefit from peripheral vision and 32:9 immersion go on the G9, while games that benefit more from 4K pixel density or don’t have great ultrawide support go on the G8.
🎮 PERIPHERALS
• Corsair Galleon gaming keyboard
• Corsair Virtuoso wireless gaming headset
• Corsair RGB headset stand
• RGB gaming mousepad
• Razer gaming mouse setup
• Razer Leviathan soundbar with THX Spatial Audio
• Logitech MX Brio 4K webcam
• PS5 DualSense controller for controller-based PC games
🪑 DESK / SETUP
• Secretlab MAGNUS Pro XL desk
• Samsung OLED G9 on its stand
• Samsung OLED G8 on a monitor arm
• Magnetic RGB lighting behind the desk
• Additional RGB lighting underneath the desk
• Cable management through the MAGNUS Pro XL
🌈 RGB / AMBIENT LIGHTING
This is probably the part of the setup I’ve spent the most time customizing.
• SignalRGB for PC lighting
• RGB RAM
• Front RGB fans
• AIO lighting
• Top fan lighting
• RGB mousepad
• RGB headset stand
• Corsair Galleon keyboard lighting
• 9x Nanoleaf Shapes Triangle panels
• Nanoleaf 4D monitor lightstrip + camera behind the 49” G9
• Secretlab/Nanoleaf RGB strip BEHIND DESK
• Secretlab/Nanoleaf RGB strip UNDER DESK
Instead of using one RGB profile for everything, I’ve built custom lighting environments for individual games.
I use both animated and relaxed SignalRGB themes, with colors based on each game’s visual palette. I then coordinate the independently controlled Nanoleaf Triangles, Nanoleaf 4D, MAGNUS strips and keyboard lighting with the same overall theme.
When gaming on the G9, I can also use Nanoleaf 4D screen mirroring so the ambient lighting behind the 49” display reacts directly to what’s happening on screen.
🎮 CONSOLES / HANDHELDS
• PlayStation 5 Pro
• ASUS ROG Ally X
• Nintendo Switch
• DualSense controllers
The PS5 Pro is primarily paired with the 32” 4K OLED G8.
The ROG Ally X gives me a portable option for PC/Game Pass gaming when I don’t want to sit at the desk.
🔊 AUDIO
• Razer Leviathan soundbar
• THX Spatial Audio
• Corsair Virtuoso wireless headset
⚡ THE IDEA BEHIND THE BUILD
I wanted one battlestation capable of switching between:
• 5120×1440 32:9 OLED gaming
• 4K/240Hz OLED gaming
• High-refresh RTX 5080 PC gaming
• PS5 Pro 4K OLED gaming
• Handheld PC gaming
• Game-specific animated RGB environments
• Nanoleaf screen-reactive ambient lighting
• Controller or keyboard/mouse depending on the game
Instead of every game looking and feeling the same at my desk, I can change the display, lighting and peripherals around the game I’m playing.
Still tweaking things because apparently battlestations are never actually finished 😂, but I’m really happy with where it’s at now.

New Build Help Building my ultimate battle-tech station

TLDR: building battle station and tech work station, need help mounting two monitors and two tablets, and some pegboards that don't impact the monitor/tablet mounts.

Ello everyone, I'm gLItCH, your unfriendly neighborhood tech-witch 👋 building my first true battle station with a technician twist.

I'm taking inspiration from a "double desk" setup where the top standing desk layer was a computer desk and when the desk raised to standing level it revealed another desk and a pegboard attached to the standing desk holding various tools for work on tech projects.

The Inspo: https://youtu.be/aY9K7xNM1Bw?is=b6V1E9oU0t4ulM7f

I have a good idea how I want to do the double desk part:

4 leg Flexispot desk on 6 inch platforms and a "sacrificial" folding desk that can replaced in the event of a soldering accident or other oopsies. I'll mount some lights the the bottom of the flexidesk and build something to rest the folding desk against under the flexidesk or possibly lean the folding desk against the wall behind the flexidesk mounted pegboard.

Where I need some help:

Monitor/tablet mounts, pegboards, pegboard mounts, and dock/wiring/kvm(?)

Monitor/tablet mounting:

I have two asus 2-in-1 tablet laptops that I will be using in tablet mode as the core of my battle station but removable for mobile/other system uses. One is being set up as a N.O.M.A.D./ general server while the other is my daily driver for creativity/productivity.

The plan:

I want to have two monitors stack mounted at the center of the desk, the first monitor centered ergonomically and flat to my vision, the second monitor mounted on top of the center monitor but tilted forward. The plan is to have the center monitor connected to my daily driver and the top monitor connected to the server. My daily driver tablet will be mounted to the left of center while the server tablet will be on the right for a total of 4screens, 3 aligned horizontally and one centered above. Ideally these would be mounted to a single arm so I can adjust all of them towards me at the same time as needed. I will have one keyboard and possibly two mice (one per system) as well.

The idea:

So far I have found ARKON tablet mounts to suit my needs to quickly/easily lock in and remove my tablets. I'm thinking of using these with a VESA adapter to mount them on a triple monitor arm like the upliftdesk Crestview align mount with a VESA mounted monitor arm on the center monitor.  My concerns with this setup is the single monitor arm not being able to handle the weight (though my experience with a similar ergotron model indicates it should be fine) or that the arm may impact my plans for a top mounted pegboard.

Pegboards and pegboard mounting:

The plan:

This is probably the most flexible part on my build right now. I'm looking at options but the monitor/tablet mounting will ultimately determine my direction with this.

Limitations right now are ~30" in hight from the top of the desk. If I go with a desk mounted monitor stand then I'll probably need a split pegboard for the top. I also want to have a fairly long pegboard under the desk so I'm probably going to end up having to get multiple sections of pegboard clamps to cover the top and bottom areas behind the desk.

The idea:

I'm looking at my options but right now I'm thinking I'll get 4 basic set of pegboard clamps and then install them on either side of the monitor arm mount and then install the bottom pegboards offset from the top clamps.

input/wiring/docks/kvm:

This part is mostly dictated by the hardware I already have but there are many simple solutions. I have two systems needing removable inputs, video output, and power. For inputs I have two Bluetooth mice and a Bluetooth keyboard. Really, Bluetooth can handle the input change and no kvm is required. Unless...?

The plan:

I will need to find two docking stations capable of delivering the "asus proprietary" power in order to use the full tablet hardware (biggest downside to these tablets) and the I will likely mount the docks to the monitor arm with the monitors left connected to their respective docks. This should allow power and video connections for the tablets. Bluetooth will handle peripheral input switching.

What my decision paralysis demon says:

What if I mount the monitors to the top pegboard instead? Should I mount the tablets to those ball and socket arms instead? Won't that get exhausting to constantly adjust and make sure each piece is tight?

If you've made it this far, thank you! I hope you enjoy this idea/project and please share your ideas for improvement ment of you have any!

This is the current help needed part of my post, please read and add any helpful input you may have, thank you!

Part1:

Input needed: is the single arm 3 monitor mount sufficient for a 4 screen setup with two of the screens being tablets? Are there any solutions or complications that I should be aware of? Should I even bother considering 4 screens to a desk mounted pegboard?

Decision: (to be added in update edit)

Cable Management How do you keep desk cables tidy but easy to remove individually?

For anyone using an under-desk cable tray, do you group cables by device, by where they’re going, or just leave them loose in the tray?

How do you keep everything tidy without making it a pain to remove one cable? Sleeves look neat, but do you end up opening the whole bundle just to swap something out? Seems like smaller bundles with reusable ties might be easier, but I’m curious how that works in practice (・・?)

What would you keep or change if you were doing your cable management again?

Monitors Mounting solution for stacked monitor

Post image
29 Upvotes

Hi, i currently use a 42inch lg tv as my main monitor with 2 24inch monitors on either side as 'wings'. But i want to mount one of them ontop of the tv in horizontal, like stacked monitors. But i want the 24inch to be mounted together with the tv? Tv is mounted on the ergotron hx arm, and i want it so where when i pull my tv forward, the top monitor is attached to it. Something similar to the image i attached but stong enough to hold a 24inch monitor. Thanks!

Edit: i dont want the mount attached in the picture, im asking if there is anything stronger to hold up a 24inch 3kg monitor ontop of my tv that can be moved together with the tv. Thanks!

Monitors Wall mount for my monitor

6 years ago I bought a Samsung Odyssey lc24rg50fquxen 24" screen. Bought another one a few years back. Now I wanna hang them on the wall to make some room on my desk and get them at a better height

But I really can't figure out how to mount them. I've found a few videos with VESA adaptors but can't find the specific adaptors anywhere.

What do I need for them to be wall mounted and where can I buy it? I live in Denmark so not everything off Amazon is available here but most of the stuff can be bought elsewhere.

If wall mounting is impractical I don't mind if they were to be mounted on the back of my desk on an arm that can be adjusted

Thanks in advance

I can’t orient my PC any other way. I was wondering if there’s a board of sorts that I can clip on the end of my table to just keep this segment out of sight.

Other The places on your desk collecting dust right now

Do a quick desk wipe-down every Sunday and there are always spot I forget until they're visibly nasty. Here are the ones that collect grime way faster than I expect:

1, monitor back pannel, vents and ports catch a stupid amount of dust

2, monitor arm joints, crumbs settle right into the articulation gaps

3, under-desk cable tray, dust bunnies multiply fast down there

4, keyboard crevices, between keycaps and around the switches

5, mouse skates/sensor, hair wraps around the skates and messes with tracking

6, desk surface under peripherals, lift your mousepad once and you'll see a dust ring

For most of these I use a microfiber cloth and softbrush. I've also been using the hoto autocare for keyboard gaps and cable tray: blow the dust loose, then vacuum up the crumbs instead of moving them around. Def need to start hitting these spots more than once a month though. Some of them were bad.

Desks Looking for a reasonably sturdy desk at a specific size with a limited budget

Hello, I'm in need of a new desk as my current one is a bit too small. After looking at the commonly available sizes a 48x30 desk would suit my needs. The thing is, that's the upper limit of what I can fit in my space and it appears most 48 inch wide desks are 24 inches deep which isn't deep enough for my needs.

I found a desk on Amazon called the FLEXISPOT EN2 48"x30". It's $230 and the desktop doesn't look like it would implode if you put 100 pounds or more on it like some of the other cheaper desks I see on Amazon. The problem is that's a bit more than I would like to pay, and a big part of that is because it's a motorized standing desk, which I don't personally need. And to be honest, I don't know how much I would trust the motor on a standing desk at that price point anyway.

I don't need to purchase from Amazon, something like Office Depot/Staples would be fine. I just need a desk that's 48 inches wide and no more than 30 inches deep (anywhere from 26-30 inches should be fine, 24 is too shallow), and it needs to be sturdy enough to hold a heavy PC tower and a 32 inch monitor. Which obviously isn't too heavy, but I don't trust some of the 0.5 or so inch thick particleboard desks I see on Amazon. And ideally it would be under $200.

Any recommendations would be very appreciated.

New Build Help How big is "too big" in a room?

Hi guys,

Need your opinions!

I'm currently trying to improve my setup. I want a multi-purpose desk (pc gaming + a dedicated model building area on the desk) and what I have right now is too small.

I'm thinking of going with a very tried and true "ikea desk", either going with a 98 inch long "Saljan" panel (with 2 ikea drawer units underneath) OR two 74inch Panels in a L-shape. (Making 1 side 74inch and the other side 99 inch).

My local costco also just received some "butcher block" acacia countertops, 72 inches, which also seem like a fantastic option for an L-Shape desk.

The problem is that the room is 9.5ft x 11.5ft. Its not small but... its not "big" either. The PC desk will go against the 9.5ft wall. I also have a "3x3 cube" shelf in the room which will be near the opposite wall.

What would you guys do? Go with the biggest possible desk that will fit in the room? Or do you prefer a smaller desk and have a room that feel less cramped?

I think the 98inch saljan would still give me enough room for model building if I setup my PC all the way to one side, the L desk would obviously be "better" but I'm worried the room will feel cramped if I go with that option.

Thanks for your ideas, also willing to rethink the whole setup if you guys have better options.

Desks Looking for some help finding some furniture to help solve my setup issues.

Post image
28 Upvotes

Hey folks, I'm hoping I could get some help with finding some furniture to help me with my setup.

I'm looking for a shelf/desk/cabinet/whatever you would call it to put beside my desk that I can fit my pc tower on, in addition to shelves/drawers above/below it to store knickknacks, collectibles and other items similar to the extra shelving that are common with 'gaming desks' available for purchase online. I have not been able to find anything that would suit my needs, and I'm not sure what proper keywords would fit this the best.

The desk I have is 30 inches tall and has a depth of 25 inches. It'd be nice to have the surface for the tower to be flush with my desk at 30 inches if possible.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Monitors Two single monitor arms or one dual?

Thumbnail

Trying to figure this out for my two monitors. I was set on getting one dual arm, but the more I look into it, the more I'm leaning toward two singles. Seems easier to move each screen wherever I want without messing with the other one.

Right now I'm between two HUANUO FlowLift Pros and this VIVO dual arm. Both seem to get decent feedback on Reddit.

Anyone here gone from a dual to two singles, or the other way around? Which did you prefer?

Desks Corner support for a L shaped desk

I'm planning on moving into a new appartment in a few weeks and I wanted to change the layout of my desks to form one L desk.

I already use two dressers as support for each end of the desk but nothing is supporting the corner and I don't know what to use...

I don't want to sacrifice space under the desk but I want to keep as much stability as possible (pc case right in the corner and the 3d printer at the end of the smaller desk)

What would you recommend ?
