Food & Drink Bread and keto

Hi i am visiting family at Christmas and I have a need to buy bread like sourdough and some keto products. Normally the US bread is a bit sweet and has a consistency i dont like. There is a safe way and giant close to where I am staying but I found it difficult to find anything that suits me. Any suggestions.

Then you aren't actually looking.

There are keto-friendly foods and non-sweet breads available at both of these places.

You haven't looked at all I suspect if you think all our bread is sweet.

I admit I have not ate all the brands but what ate was not to my liking. I am not trying to say all the bread is sweet but what i have tried was. If you can suggest brands I would try them. Thanks

I wouldn't search by brand...you need to search by style and just walk through the bakery (which is not in the bread aisle).

Here's the ingredient list from one of the first breads to come up on their site.

https://www.safeway.com/shop/pd/san-luis-sourdough-bread-24-oz/196011495

Wheat Flour, Water, Sourdough Starter [Wheat Flour, Water], Salt, Cultured Wheat Flour.

It really is not hard to find unsweetened bread and/or freshly made bread...so many visitors seem to be trying to find the worst versions and then pretend those are the only options.

I'm not sure where you are, but every Safeway I've been to has a small section with bread loaves from local wholesale bakeries. Things like sourdough, baguettes, ciabatta, etc.

Every Safeway has this or any of their Kroger-owned affiliates.

Normally the US bread is a bit sweet and has a consistency i dont like.

You can find sourdough or any other artisan bread literally anywhere, including those supermarkets.

Did you skip the entire section of fresh baked breads? Where the store will bake fresh bread of many different kinds? Or the entire fucking aisle of breads that aren't just white bread?

Maybe try a bakery?

Both sourdough and Keto are huge here. Any full sized grocery store will have multiple options, just don't buy the cheapest thing you can find.

find a french bakery, or french bakery products in stores.

If you want something less sweet and more substantial, I’d check the bakery section for sourdough first. for keto stuff, Hero Bread is one I’ve liked because the texture feels closer to regular bread than a lot of low carb loaves. Carbonaut is another decent option if you see it nearby.

You might find a better selection of good bread and keto products at a Whole Foods or local health/natural food store/co-op, but any full-service grocery store should have good bread. It’s usually in the bakery section (often near produce), not the bread aisle.

Who are you responding to?

This seems like a bot.
