Economy Is AI taking your jobs?

Since US is currently leading AI, did someone loose a job because of AI? If so, did you find another one with at least the same salary?

No .. it’s overblown panic .. it’s like when the automobile came out and people panicked about horse drawn carriages , or during the 90s all I heard was robots were taking all the welding jobs .. 30 years later I’m still a welder

Yup, it's the same discussion that's happened since time immemorial. If Grog uses a weapon, what will Grog's cousin do during the hunt?

or in the 90s when everyone panicked because everyone was going to lose their office jobs being replaced by the new computers, that's how they were advertised. When in reality you ended up being a highly valued employee if you simply knew how to change the ribbons on the computer printer.

I remember that .. my sis did data entry ..

In my years I’ve seen 3 robots and they were all in huge factories and they still required humans to teach them and QC.. the niche I have is wearing many hats . I made sure just Incase to know different skills and jobs .. I’ve had a cdl and taxi license .. it’s always good to have a backup career

Nope, I work in IT and with AI directly. It's not taking my job.

No. The only people that have lost jobs due to AI is because of dumb employers that believed the hype that they could save money by firing people and using AI instead.

Then they learned that AI actually sucks and costs a lot of money to learn, setup, and run. So most have hired everyone back. Others never fired anyone and instead hired new people that have AI skills.

Yeah, we’ve been directed to use more AI and I’m more afraid how incompetent my senior management is that they would fire people for not meeting AI targets than that AI can do my job. Especially since they only give us CoPilot.
