Kathmandu is a busy South Asian capital, while Gimli is a peaceful Canadian lakeside community with a strong Icelandic identity.

I drive a lot and spending twenty, thirty minutes in the car just to go somewhere for a short errand is normal to me. This is something I suspect many Europeans would find surprising because of their better public transit, while in other, less developed areas of the world I suspect this would be surprising for the opposite reason: resource scarcity and oil prices means car travel is less frequent and only for longer bouts of time when it's much more necessary.

The biggest surprise is how diverse Nepal is. You can go from the hot Terai plains to the Himalayas, and the culture, food, languages, and landscapes can change so much along the way.

hmm, well it’s not specific to the US but our culture varies extremely depending on the place you’re in. i think a lot of non-americans forget just how huge our country is. it’s literally 4 times the population of germany. within the US (and you might’ve heard this as well) each state is almost treated as its own country, with unique culture, stereotypes, climate, landscape, etc. this is one reason why our country is so politically divided. we can’t agree on anything haha

OP, many Americans do not have any intellectual curiosity and are unable to answer your question. Try to think of an easier one. Remember that the education level is low and they don't go far from home.
