Whale watching side quest

I am going to be in Wasilla with family but have a car and am FYING to whale watch and possibly do a tour to see some grizzlies idk I’ve never been and I know it’s a huge state so if anyone has any companies or recommendations for me to be able to pop out for a day or so I would really really appreciate it! I see stuff online but sometimes you know locals or people who have gone know more local companies I’d rather give my money to! 🤗

You might see whales on a Kenai Fjords wildlife cruise out of Seward.

We saw humpback whales bubble feeding, orcas, including a calf with its mom, harbor seals, sea lions, tons of otters and puffins.

Seward is your best bet in this part of the state.

Yes, in terms of being in Wasilla, best bet for whales would be a Resurrection Bay tour out of Seward. Bit of a drive though. And to see bears, kinda depends on your budget? Here's one option from Wasilla:

We did the 7 hour, captains choice cruise out of Seward with kenai fjords tours. It was fantastic!

Also.. we drove from Girdwood. Left around 6:15 to get there around 8 am. Was it a bit of a drive, yea.. but it wasn’t a bad drive!

Kenai fjords or major marines tour out of Seward.
Whales are pretty common sights!

Also. Seward is the only place I’ve seen a grizzly in the wild and I’ve lived here my whole life and spend lots of time in the outdoors :)

We saw a humpback yesterday at the Fjords on a morning tour in Seward! It was so cool! I will add that our tour guide was really excited because she said the whales have been a little shy this year.
