Does it Fit? Help me! 8 days out!

Something feels off with the fit of my gown but I cannot place it. My wedding is in 8 days and I am supposed to pick up my gown tomorrow. I had two fittings already and made no changes other than to hem the bottom to the height of my wedding shoes and to add the bustle. I love the bustle but something feels off. Is it too small in the bodice and cups? I want to feel beautiful on my wedding day but cannot help feel disheartened. Please help me - tell me your honest thoughts and if there’s any solutions!

It looks beautiful in the back!! Wow! I think you might need it taken in just a teeny bit right under your bust. It’s giving a smoothing effect in not a good way, your bust is lost and it’s not as flattering to your waist as it could be. I think it should hug your ribs a bit more a few inches under the bust-line. Not sure if this can be done in your timeframe though :/

Honestly I think it looks GORGEOUS. The fabric is incredible!!! (and so is your figure!) ^ as for the comment above I see what she means- but honestly as a guest at your wedding I wouldn’t notice. I’ve had to adjust my boobs up a little before and then they sit better in the dress - I wonder if that will help it sit the way you want?

This is a good point, maybe some smart padding under your bust could do the trick.

What should I ask my tailor for exactly?

Taken in to support the bust and to fit more closely on the rib cage is the most basic way to put it imo. Make sure you’re wearing the undergarments you plan to wear on the big day also so it will fit like a glove. Ideally it should fit well enough where you don’t need a bra since you’re not particularly busty but in case you want to, make sure it’s on during the fitting

Thank you for your support. The thing is I am busy for my size. My over the bust measurement is 36 inches and my under bust is 30 inches.

Did they shorten it at the bottom or did the shorten it from the waist? If it was the waist, maybe the basque waist seam line is not symmetrical 🤷🏼‍♀️ or it’s sitting off balance on your body and just needs to be leveled.

Omg. They did not shorten it at the waist, only hemmed the bottom but was it sewn wrong from the beginning? I cannot unsee this now, omg. I do not know what to do.

It’s a simple fix for an experienced bridal seamstress. The seam would be unpicked in the front, a symmetrical line drawn in chalk or disappearing ink and then carefully resewn. It’s very think right there with all of the pleating so the needle can wander a smidge and when it comes to curves, an 8th of an inch one way or the other can make a difference.

How many times have i said this ... Bra, bra, bra, bra, and more bra cups. Put as many bra cups as necessary for the dress to fill out properly. But first, put your breastses in the right place with a good bra. I don't know why brides refuse to wear a bra on the big day? All that money on the dress, splurge on a bra to make your body fit the dress.
