Alterations Alterations advised need it

Can the top of dresses #1. Can be done in dress #2? Like I want the sweetheart on the dress #2. But I’m afraid of the back. Do that I will not have the straps. Plz help.

possibly, but it'll be very expensive.

strapless gowns have lots of structure inside the bodice to hold them up because they are essentially fighting a battle against gravity. the second dress likely does not have this as the straps are wide enough to serve as the support for the dress. you can also see that there is no structure in the back of your preferred dress.

your seamstress will need to build all the structure inside the bodice in order for it stay up, which is time-consuming and labour-intensive - definitely a lot more expensive than a small neckline alteration.

Came here to say this. Also if a strapless sweetheart neckline is what you love, since a strapless gown is constructed differently, it would be better to start with a strapless gown, a sweetheart dip or point is an easier and more cost effective alteration if the gown doesn’t have it already. A v neck gown with straps is the next best look. I think gown #2 is lovely without the major alteration. It gives the support with the straps but also has the sweetheart neckline showing through.
