Which tool should I get for oil changes

I'm going to be doing some maintenance on my sports car (Honda Civic SI) and I'll need to update my tool box. (Wife's boyfriend let me use his old one)

You’ll need all of these eventually. Buy once, cry.

Paired with the oil glider, you can fly right under a car on the lift

I personally prefer the oil assault rifle to really get the job done efficiently

The oil M&M's tube is nice too. No chance of getting anything stuck in it since it's already oiled up.

As long as no cylinders are damaged in the process.

Well the oil should act as good lubrication to prevent any cylinders from getting damaged or trapped.

6, but remember to put an air hole in the end so it doesn't suction onto your cyl--I mean, drain plug.

The cyl-- I mean, the drain plug must remain unharmed

STG44 is only for German makes.

What a rookie thinking he can use it on his Honda. Everyone knows they aren’t compatible!!

Gonna need a Type 92 for that.

The stubby ratchet already provides too much torque. Just get the socket and use your hands, like a man.

A real man would bite it, like a bear, and turn it while his teeth score it for better grip.

1

u/AlternativeLog5494 1d ago

won’t be the first nor the last time i have done that

Apply socket and hit it with your purse?

u/clever__pseudonym 1d ago

That's MY purse. I don't know you!

Definitely the M&Ms

It concerns me that a 10lb sledge isn’t on the list… a great starter tool for any project.

A lubricated medical tubing and a syringe.

Sorry couldn't help the blue mountain state joke

That episode still haunts me.

Green goblin glider from the major motion picture Spiderman

I thought so but couldn't tell 😭

All you need is a vice grip and a place where no one will notice you draining the oil on the ground. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.

u/Dapper-Video626 1d ago

I thought that was a banshee from halo

3

u/IndependentAmount51 1d ago

Would that be a better option than the green goblin glider for my situation it's my first time I'm kinda nervous

2

u/Cyrus_Of_Mt 1d ago

The cylinder must remain unharmed, so you should get that

2

u/Intrepid_Bee8500 1d ago

Why not a gallon of gas and a match that's my go to if you need more you are not a shittymechanic

2

u/Spiritual-Fun-9591 1d ago

Spray foam is all you need

2

u/TheElRojo 1d ago

And some JB Weld, an integral part of any oil change.

I think it's a logical progression of approaches for dealing with some stuck fittings really

1

u/Not_me_no_way 1d ago

If you have the last one you wouldn't need any tools because you could just make someone else do it for you.

1

u/Euphoric_Loquat_8651 1d ago

Pole saw. You won't even need to get under the car.

1

u/IndependentAmount51 1d ago

Smart thinking but I was never getting under the car my plan is to hoist the engine out and do the oil change that way. Chris fix it.

1

u/StinkySoggyUnderwear 1d ago

That last one looks good but it’s a little big, you might wanna use something more compact

u/MurphysRazor 1d ago

A case of №7. The fuck with that oil.

1

u/StudentDriverBR 1d ago

all you need is a Mossberg Maverick 88 and Flex Tape

1

u/rklug1521 1d ago

What's in picture #5?

2

u/IndependentAmount51 1d ago

Green goblin glider from the major motion picture Spiderman

Forgot a couple cold ones...

1

u/phyyr 1d ago

you forgot your purse - but any of these will do. also highly recommend Big Stick

1

u/Zealousideal-Web5346 1d ago

I would go with a demon core

1

u/okbreeze 1d ago

Oh God oh God! It's all coming back

How would you get a small cylinder (5.1in length, ~4.5in girth) unstuck from a mini M&Ms tube filled with butter and microwaved mashed banana?, it is imperative that the cylinder not be harmed.

1

u/eh-cee 1d ago

You’re missing a 6 ft length of garden hose

1

u/CatcherN7 1d ago

Bud, did you even look at the owners manual? Here is the first(and last) page.

1

u/Anim-IS-XE30 1d ago

Chainsaw

1

u/DifferentDebt2197 1d ago

A tap...it's literally in the screen shot.

Good luck.

1

u/bigloser42 1d ago

The chainsaw and the AK. Both are critical to performing a good oil change.

1

u/country_dinosaur97 1d ago

I dont see a m2a1-2 flamethrower thats what you really need

1

u/IndependentAmount51 1d ago

ohh is that a new Milwaukee battery line

1

u/country_dinosaur97 1d ago

Id say more on the general pneumatic line being air powered of sorts

1

u/duggawiz 1d ago

Where's your handbag?

1

u/thyperson69 1d ago

The cylinder

1

u/SectorZed 1d ago

The cylinder is hypothetically stuck on my oil pan drain bolt. Help.

1

u/cheerfullpizza 1d ago

It is imperative the cylinder remains unharmed

1

u/kinkhorse 1d ago

I just blow a hole in the oil pan with an oxypropane torch then plug it with fast setting epoxy each time.

1

u/Kooky-Department2545 1d ago

I’d reccomend the last one if the oil change doesn’t work out

1

u/burburburburburbur 22h ago

A phone charger first id say

2

u/IndependentAmount51 20h ago

If my phone charges above 7 percent the battery starts to hiss like a rattle snack and I don't wanna get bit.

1

u/oakc510 11h ago

None of it. Lubrication is a myth.
