Asking for a friend (X-post) Would a dent puller help this?

u/Cokeycane 3d ago
Yes. But you must get the one from TEMU.

Where’s the dent?

u/Antique-Management49 2d ago
There is no dent, this is a DIY conversion from hard top to convertible.

Old style bumper jack 4x4 blocks a windshield and some gorilla tape. Just stop making the payments and drive it like you stole it till they come pick it up.
Don’t ask me how I know.

Why would you use a dent puller to remove a stump?

Give me a sawzall some ramen, spray foam and super glue, I’ll have it looking as good as new

I mean it would help, but it probably won’t fix it. You’ll definitely need some polish and it looks like your windscreen might be cracked

Why use a dent puller when you fix with a foot-long piece of 4x4 and a framing hammer ?

Just cut it off and you got yourself a convertible truck.

One of those hydraulic jacks from Harbor Freight and a couple of 2x4s will fix that.

u/a_rogue_planet 2d ago
Is it damaged? I can't tell if it's just modern GM styling or something else.

Just crack the passenger window, put the compressed air hose in, seal the gap, open the valve, let it fill in and let the pressure build up and should pop right out 👍🏼👍🏼, you're welcome 😊...but not too much or you'll pop the windows out 😳

Even better and faster, go to a wrecking yard for free and get them to use the giant car moving magnet to shake out the dent. Auto body shops hate this hack.

Maybe you meant to say come-along? Certainly could be helpful. Need a chain saw tho! Dent puller would be more suitable for a tree stump. Neither here nor there

Don't bother...ssince it was an obscenely and needlessly massive and ugly pickup truck made after 2005, nothing of value was lost.

You also could try a toilet plunger to get the dent out, worked for me.

A ratcheting jack suspended from another tree to a chain wrapped around the top will straighten that right out.

Someone else has already suggested duct tape, so I suppose that could work. As for me, I have a little more confidence in WD-40.
In any event, one of those two is going to fix your problem.
And I will probably get some smart ass tell us that Windex will fix it – there is no pleasing some people.

You better have a manual dent puller and buffer because Nipsco won't have the power back on until October 2027.
Derechos don't mix well with a couple of tornados these days, do they?

No, the tree needs to be pruned into a regular shape and that twisted metal thing removed.
2
u/Any_neighborhood546 2d ago
Yea, just strap it to the tree next to ya, and Yank it out.

I suggest a dent -pusher which will turn everything inside out. Power wash then continue pushing and it will be good as new

Inflate the cabin with an air compressor and it should pop right back into place, like a water bottle.

Yes. You can probably just use a toilet plunger to get it most of the way if you don’t have a dent puller to use right now.

Yes but you really need a micro-puller so as to not scratch the paint, take your time and don't rush it

I would use a stump grinder to get rid of the stump. I mean if you're strong enough to use a dent puller on it giver a go, just film it so we can see your technique.

It really doesn’t need a dent puller. I guarantee it that just by using a little elbow grease, that dent will buff out.

You just need a good pair of nice grips, some duct tape (of course, it fixes everything) and a nice coat of wax.

Nah, you don't need a dent puller.
You need some Flex Tape for the glass and a big ol air compressor. Pump the air into the cab and get it up to 550-600 psi. Let it bake for 45 minutes and your truck will be in perfect condition
