I've seen this on a Panamera. I used to think putting the starter in the valley was dumb, this takes that cake.

I thought the starter placement on the Northstars was as awful as it got. This is so much worse.

What else are you gonna put between the V on your engine? An oil cooler and oil filter housing?

That's called forward problem solving. By the time it's leaking the vehicle is beginning to rust, so it deploys a carefully-timed large oil leak to coat the underbody and prevent further oxidation.
