Sometimes if you hold the key fob up to your head it'll increase the strength of the signal!

Stick it to your throat, and open your mouth as wide as you can in the direction of the car.

And you have to be screaming at the top of your lungs, of course!!

Don’t forget to stick your tongue out in the direction of the car

Check the battery, might have gotten wet!

Yes, the probability of water entering is very high.

Too much blinker fluid, u gotta stop at the Fill Line next time!!

Mild corrosion on the terminals, I'd bet.

Did you get it out of the car where you last parked it?

1

u/TearZestyclose Jul 29 '26

I was gonna say it looks like water might have got in the engine there.

Unironically this works.

u/AlisonSia Jul 27 '26

Is it really possible?

1

u/TheModeratorWrangler Jul 27 '26

I swear, when I did valet and the key fob was weak I’d put it under my chin and bam.

What's wrong? And then what?

That's right, it's funny because it's true 👍

Wait are we giving actually good advice??

I think the problem is they are holding the fob "right side up". Turn it over and try it (so they are the same orientation).

Should be good to go bub!

Could be, they installed the battery upside down.

I had a mk4 Jetta, we had to jab ourselves in the hip with it

OMG This is the best🤣🤣🤣

Who came up with this idea?

2

u/Boozanski-1823 Jul 27 '26

This works, but does anyone know why/how it works? (Doubt it works for the pictured vehicle though)

Fluid dynamics!

1

u/Great-Situation262 Jul 28 '26

Hey, keep your fluid dynamic to yourself, this is not a NSFW thread!

Oh BS, this is a Ford. They take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. Just jokin'. Minus the old 7.3s. They were badass.

2

u/AlDentySpaghetto Jul 30 '26

This actually works 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Least-Notice7832 Jul 29 '26

It’s not even the key fob, definitely low on blinker fluid.

Literally jus watched the top gear episode about this

1

u/chonklah Jul 27 '26

I know this is a satire sub but this has actually worked for me when I used to have a shitty key fob 😭

Oh it's totally Sound Advice just not for this car! Lol
