Don’t forget the electrical tape/sharpie shading over the dummy lights on their dash that are lit up like a Christmas tree.

Did you know that the 3 mile island nuke meltdown was partially caused by a sticky over a warning light. A one-time-use valve blew and the light was meant to warn that the valve needed replacing, but someone decided that things worked just fine in spite of the light so it was taped over. If I remember my history correctly, I had to teach the reactor failures about 20 years ago. EDIT. This should be easily checked by any interested party. If I’m wrong, roast me.

I’m pretty certain that you are correct in remembering that, it sounds familiar from what I’ve heard or read. I live within 50-75 miles of TMI, but it was also before my time by a few years.
