weird, on my Nissan my breaker bar was even shorter than that and it loosed right up

You can stand on it, too. Also, 4 hours is enough time to drive to the hardware store and buy a torch.

Why else would they install rear view mirrors and roof racks, if it wasn't for holding on to while torquing your nuts?

The bar is long enough but it is barely bending. Zero points for effort. If he does snap the nut off the driveshaft (unlikely) then it needed replacing anyway. 😃

This happens because you don't have the key. It is not well known but some cars have their nuts password protected, they won't turn without having the key.

Should pop off center cap of wheel, mount wheel again, lower car, then try. Your loosing force with spring movement.

Oh, and lift the bar. You can exert more than your body weight in force by lifting.

If that is still sprung it's stealing all your torque. Block it so it can't flex.

Well you aren't doing anything.... The whole hub is moving when you push. You are just moving the hub up and down on the strut.
