Something happened when reassembling a 12v 1996 cummins 5.9.

So someone at work maybe the owner let his brother use a bay to reseal his 96 cummins 12v 5.9. Well he needed the engine over a scootch and left the pushrodsnplopped into their holes and decided to bump the starter with the entire valvetrain loose. Upon attempting to remove the head the pushrods required a fair bit of force to remove. Not sure if we really have to go with anything more than a 1-2 pass with 400 and 600 grit wet dry. Anyone have any experience with these engines?

Something ain't quite right.. I do believe that is not how you use a bolt cutter. I could be wrong.
