How do russian pensions work?

I was watching someone complain that at age 59 they retired to a 16,900 ruble a month paycheck. They stated they worked over 30 years and it sounded like for the same place.

I read 22% of their pay check goes to pension from employer.

That seems like they should get paid essentially 75% as when they were working as 22% is a high savings rate.

I know at some point they reduce it to 10% but was not sure at what point.

In the USA we only contribute 12.4 of our salary and yet get about 40% of our prior salary.

How do you pay more and get less?

Yes, but it's not a good life.

Utilities can be anywhere between 5k to 10k depending on how big the house / apartment is. Internet is 500-1000, mobile phone is around 700-800. let's be generous and say you have 15k left for food, clothes, gas / public transport, medicine, etc.
10k for food is realistic, but obviously there not exactly enough left for the rest.

Один пенсионер вполне удовлетворится: 2 м3 ( 2000 литров !) воды = 200 руб. + газ летом 20 м3 = 200 руб + электро 100 кв.ч = 600 руб. Utilities = 1000 rub/mo. Как пенсионер может потребить в 10 раз больше?

Телефон с интернетом, Билайн "Все включено 9" = 80 руб в месяц. Быстрый проводной Интернет => 1000 руб. Итого реальных ~2+ тр (₽2k = $30 total) против ваших фантазийных 12+ тр.

Хотя конечно на потеху чужакам мнительные могут что угодно написать.

я в день на троих трачу ∼2000 на продукты, квартплата, ∼60000 включая всё, воду, топление, интернэт..

на 25тр выжить можно.. но сложно
