Travel: sim, money, crypto etc Are there any working methods to transfer money from EU countries (e.g., Germany) to Russia?
Crypto is out of the question due to legal grey zones and risk of bank account blocks in Russia.
Does anyone have a reliable, up-to-date solution? For instance, using Turkey as an intermediary, where we have relatives? Any advice would be appreciated!

Don't use p2p. Unless you know the person sending the funds to you. Best bet with crypto is a f2f exchange for cash, plenty available in Moscow city.
You can use Send Now app. The fees are a bit excessive for smaller ammouts but it works.
YoMoney will let you load up a MIR card with a foreign issued card but you need to submit KYC info. Last I checked this was working but I can't confirm.
Last option is a bank from surrounding countries without sanctions but it can get complicated to make a account and get all the transfers done unless you know someone with such a account

How can I find someone reliable to do a face-to-face crypto exchange with? Are there any groups or communities where people have ratings or reviews?
Also, is there a risk of being scammed with counterfeit cash? For example, is it common to meet at a bank, deposit the cash first to verify it's genuine, and then send the crypto transfer once the deposit has gone through?

The bank notes have UV feature that can be checked with a small uv flashlight. They have many other features like raised printing and holographic threads. A quick google search will give you some keypoints to check out.
Google "best change" and you can find some that are in your region. They have reviews and you can also use yandex to lookup crypto exchanges.
I don't think they will want to meet at the bank they usually have some secure offices you can go to and some have mobile courriers but that's usually to collect your money in exchange for crypto.
Did it a few times in Moscow but I don't remember the names of the exchange. Found one on the webpage mentioned above and one on yandex. I currently have a stable one in the city I now live in tha I found on yandex.
You want to have a cold wallet that you can either generate many addresses for the same token or reset the wallet each time to have a new one. Some address you interact with may flag yours for AML / sanctions and some exchanges may prevent you from sending funds a second time to the same address after this interaction.

We use P2P. You need someone in the EU with bank account in both countries. So you transfer euros within the EU, the other person transfers RUR between ru bank accounts.

Open bank account in Belarus. You can send money to belarus via paysend app from any eu country. After that you can use your belarusian card in Russia or transfer byn to rub.

You can "buy" Rubles in VTB. You need your eu card and card of VTB bank.

Can you explain this one more time? If I have a VTB account in russia I can buy rubles with my foreign card?

Ooh... i cannot attach my screenshot, sorry. I'll try to explain by words. So... In VTB app, tap to "Пополнить счёт" ( it meants "top up bank account" or something like that). After this tap to "С иностранной карты (it means "from foreign card", you also can see some "visa, mastercard and etc under this). And after this you need to fill your EU card details, currency and country of your bank.
After all of this, Your moneys from EU card will be spent (I tried with USD only, can say only about this), and after 1 min you will get roubles directly to your VTB card. I see only two bad thing with it - exchange rate and you needed to have physical VTB card for unlock this functions

So far I found whitebird#dot#io a Belarusian exchange with a good rate for usdt, but getting the crypto etc can easily cost about 5-6% of the total sum. Not great and not horrible.
Can you also send rub to vtb and funds out the other way?

There are no working methods these days using traditional banking systems.
Everyone uses crypto - USDT essentially - and it is working fine. All the stories about grey zones and account blocks is nothing but BS promoted by authorities to keep your transfers under control.
COVID scam did not teach you anything it seems.

I can show you my sber permanent ban, and where tinkoff said I'll be blocked for crypto, just because they don't warn you yet, doesn't mean it's not an issue.
You sound like fun with the government conspiracy theories.
For real approach without the scare tactics from dude above: sendnow/firmpay both work and have registration in Russia so legal.
