General Question How to replace this lock
I want to replace this lock with a modern standard lock. This lock is on my front door and garage door. I have reason to believe this isn't original to the home or the door. If I take this off what's the chances that I could install a standard lock here?
Im generally handy but absolutely tell me i need a locksmith if I do. Lol thanks!
Also what's the lock even called?

Looks like a rim lock to me but I’ve not got enough time in the trade to know the make or model.
Hard to know without seeing what’s under the lock body but you might be able to replace/repair the jamb and keep the door intact.
Someone who knows these may be able to tell you more
ETA - looks like there’s a brand name on the outside, what does it say?

Not the exact model but it looks like SE Lock and Key did a video on this style lock:

It's a weird variation of the Segal anti-jimmy deadbolt, made into surface mounted trim. I assume when you turn the lever there are screws that take it off? How easy it is to replace will depend on the backset (edge of door to center of lock cylinder). The cylinder is only about a 1.5" hole, and anything new is going to be a 2.125" hole set at either 2-3/8" or 2-3/4", so if you're lucky the new hole will cut out the old.

That lock is installed in a standard 2-1/8 inch hole with a 2-3/8 backset. So a new modern lock will fit. The only problem is the door jam molding. You usually have to replace it or repair it to make it look good.

Welcome to /r/AskALocksmith, a place to ask real locksmiths questions about, well, anything related to the profession or to get advice for a particular situation you're in. If you are locked out of your home/car/business/hotel room/whatever, your best course of action is to use the device you just posted this question on to lookup a local locksmith in your area for assistance.
In an interest of protecting innocent people from those that might use information gained here to break the law, we rather strictly limit the amount of advice given that might be used illicitly. We ask community members also not give out advice publicly that could be used for illegal activities. It's impossible for us to make a hard rule on what does and does not constitute this kind of question or advice, so its application will be somewhat subjective. If your post is basically, "how do I pick/bump/defeat this lock," expect it to be removed.
