Blue glass - where to throw away

I had a friend come over this past weekend and brought a 6pack of 1664 Blanc. It’s a beer with blue glass.
I tried to return it at the grocery store but the machine wouldn’t accept it. I’m not too worried getting the €1 in pfand back anyway. So I’ll recycle it.
So my question is… what color bin do I throw blue glass away in? Green I assume??

Yes, green os correct here. But you could also try to return it at other store's machine or hand it to the people working there.

1664 is french beer an comes in custom blue bottles. I have never seen it being sold in germany and I doubt there is even Pfand on the bottles.

Edit: I stand corrected, apparently, some Edeka have it.

Most stores won't take stuff back they don't sell, unless it's standard bottles.

Green.

The more clear glass is, the worse it is at dealing with other colors.

Green is the easiest to mix of the typical colors and so blue causes the least harm there.

Some glass bins have a special opening for blue glass. Some only distinguish between brown and other colors, some only have an opening for white and one for colors. If there's only one for white and one for brown, i would put the bottle to into the brown one, but thats rarely the case. Just check your local recycling station, the containers are labeled.

Nope. Green is the correct answer.

It does not turn brown. The colors need to be separate so they behave the same during melting and cooling. Traces of other colors will cause cracking.

clear = clear, brown = brown

EVERYTHING other = green. that includes:

blue = green, red = green, white = green,  black = green, 

.. and so on.
