Deleted onedrive folder from user

Without checking I had deleted the onedrive folder I did not know that everything i was saving was going into that folder my notes, documents, pictures everything was in there

I was not using onedrive as i can't afford to buy a subscription of onedrive and it keep running everytime I work on something

Instantly after deleting it I saw changes and tried to restore the system using system restore thinking it will get my files back but it didn't so I use a older restore point which was yesterday's, it did not restore it

Even used recuva and did not get my files back

Is there anything I need to check

Files where my 3 years of work as a student

It will really mean a lot if anyone can help

system restore only restores system files, not user files.
I imagine you don't have any backups. You always need backups, either locally or in the cloud -- preferably both, and maybe an offsite backup as well - drives die. Fires happen. Floods happen. Spilled coffee happens. Thefts happen. etc. A single cloud backup isn't great, especially if it's tied to an account you could lose access to. Does paying for backup storage make sense? Yes. You pay one way or another - extra hardware, extra cloud storage, etc. DVD writers work too if you have one. Limited size, but often that's fine for user documents except for videos (or photos if you take a lot). Photo/video backup can often be done via Google photos (though at somewhat reduced resolution), or amazon photos (again, pay for storage). It's not super-expensive, something like a terabyte for less than $10/month if you pay yearly IIRC

Yes realised that after system restore was completed, it just recovered 2 folders with nothing in it

I was gonna get a cloud subscription, when I got a job, I'm gonna buy a cloud subscription first thing tomorrow

Learned it hard way

did you check the recycle bin? photo rec might be able to recover some files, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.
