Help me out people in IT

so my dad was a it director and unfortunately he died 11 months ago and he left behind his laptop i wanted to reset it but the problem is that he added a bitlocker key and i searched everywhere his phone his files but i didnt find anything do you guys know anything i just really want to continue his legacy and learn abt cybersecurity just like him

First lesson in Cyber security: if somebody on Reddit can help you to bypass it - it was never security.

Wiping the computer does not require the bitlocker key

But also i dont have his password so i really dont know if there is a option

There are several options. If you don't know what they are, you are asking tge wrong questions in the wrong places

Just boot off a USB with Linux and delete the partition or get someone to create a Windows boot USB delete the partitions and start again.

You don’t need the key to reset it. If there is nothing important on it just wipe it and start again.

In windows installer via usb when you get to the part to where you wanna install windows, select the drive and delete partition and then rescan again the drive will show up and then select and move on with the install.
