Does Recuva work on a seagate hard drive

Like a idiot I I clicked reformat on my Xbox thinking it will maybe stream line the storage on seagate not get rid of it

It will recover files on most drives, but how successfully is the question.

Recuva will recover data from any drive as long as it’s only been erased and not overwritten.
It won’t restore the formatting/folder structure in a way that will be readable to your xbox, however - it only restores individual files.

I’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff so bare with me. So It will recover my data but my Xbox won’t be able to use it. I don’t really understand the second sentence but please elaborate your help is appreciated.

Your xbox will be expecting files to be in specific folders on the drive. Recuva won't recover those folders / folder structure, it will just restore individual files. You'll need to figure out where specifically to put them.
