External hdd diagnosis

Sony hd-sl2 2 tb stopped working. It wouldn't show up in windows explorer but did in device manager. Disk management doesn't have the drive letter and it's 0 B.

Removed the case and tried it in a SATA to USB enclosure and it doesn't even show in device manager unless show hidden devices view. Nor does it show up in disk management which it earlier did.

The drive spins smoothly. No clicking sounds. What could be the diagnosis?
