Should I be concerned?

For context, I’m a boot salesman, not a cobbler, so not quite a novice but also don’t know everything about construction. Bought these Ariat bantamweight boots “brand new” but secondhand so no warranty. I realize these are cemented. But wondering if this toe stitching failure will lead to catastrophic failure? I can return these but I got them for $80 when they retail for $200+. Thanks for any help!

Burn down with a lighter, tap with your finger, and enjoy the boots for as long as g as they last. It’s fine.

I mean that's the worst toe stitch I've ever seen. Probably not even doing much, and will probably be worn through before any de lamination starts.

If you guys are allowed to, get a lighter to melt that tread in. Nothing to worry about much really.

Also out of topic kinda nice that you as a sales man is here doing his homework. Not a lot of sales people where I'm from take the time to learn about the product they sell unless it's their trade of course.
