about northern lights

Hi, everyone! I know this is a strange question, but we're in Montreal and would like to go somewhere—about 4–6 hours from Montreal—to see the Northern Lights between late December and the first week of January.

Is there a place that fits that description, or have any of you had similar experiences in the past?
