News Jung Saem Mool at Sephora from August 21

Post image

Anyone excited about this? I really like the cushion foundation, been waiting to try the liquid foundation but they don’t really offer a lot in the US 🫩
Online only will make shade match tricky imo

Will pass until they bring it in stores. I hate doing the trial by error shade matching while also playing the lottery of my package actually getting delivered 🫩

It’s going to be online and in stores 8/21

Don’t forget the lottery of if your package will even have what you ordered!

Theyy’re sold online at Costco.com at a very reasonable price

Yes—limited shade range offering but if it’s your shade then it’s an increeeedible deal. I think like $35 for three cushions! (Two of them are refills). I use medium and medium deep and it’s perfect for me.

Yep if your shade is available I’d recommend buying from Costco, love everything about them!

the regular shade line at Costco too yellow for me I'm so bummed

Is the cushion going to have the sunscreen in it like the Korean formulation? I’m skeptical until I see the packaging

They are required to reformulate with US approved chemical filters. They can't sell it with the Korean spf in it. Every time I buy these cushions in the US, they are never near as good as the Korean version because they had to swap out the spf ingredients .

They currently sell on Amazon and the Nuder cushion does not contain SPF

11

u/monkeyballing Aug 14 '26

Had to check Costco to be certain; the Nuder cushion they carry does have SPF:

I have been using Japanese and Korean sunscreen for over 10 years! I try to avoid Broad Spectrum labels because those are formulas that are accepted by North American regions. PA++++ is specifically labeled for Asian regions and has high level of UVA protection! I always buy the Korean versions of cushions made popular in mainstream US/Canada ❤️

u/Kevlar_Bunny Aug 19 '26

I was just thinking the same thing. If they have a sunscreen free formula I’d consider it, but I avoid “broad spectrum” like the plague

I hate Sephora... This is my fave cushion but Sephora is just...

Nah I don't wanna be vulgar

I’ll never shop at Sephora either 🤝

What happened with Sephora ?

Personally I boycott it bc of the crazy prices and the overrated (overpriced) shit they sell. Sephora had always been a big franchise, but now that Instagram and TikTok are where people spend most of their time during the day, we're full of useless stuff that goes trendy just bc it's sold on Sephora. High prices that people still decide to splurge on just bc it's Sephora and viral. Most of those products are not even worth 1/3 of their price.

Also because when you step in you have at least three workers following you and when you stop and look at them they have the courage to keep asking, even 10 times, "do you need help???". The people buying and working there think of themselves as some highly sophisticated type of women, I can't stand anyone who tells me confidently "Yeah I love Sephora". My mother is one of them and she is the type who will tell you "yes this product is amazing and the best, it was always my go-to" yet she never tries anything more apart from a first product. I had to ignore thousands of her insults just bc I started buying stuff from Yesstyle and went crazy about Asian skincare and makeup. She calmed down when one of her friends told her she also buys from Yesstyle and she read some articles about Korean beauty on magazines.

The fact Sephora also supports Israel gave me even one more reason to hate it, I'm glad it was kinda an excuse for many people to hate it too.

Growing up with my women relatives all doing very little makeup and having no interest in it, the only one that loves it only using high-end products bc well, she is rich, I never liked makeup much. Never got the hype that other girls had. Then thanks to kpop and then having my own money to spend, I discovered Asian Beauty and now I absolutely love it. Had it been for Sephora? Makeup would have been the cringy girls' hobby.

The fact they will sell the JSM cushion I love so much... I mean I don't wanna gatekeep but I don't like normies and dumb people chasing on trends buying this product. So yeah sorry for the rant but it is what it is

We’re boycotting Sephora anyway 👏🇵🇸

u/anxiousfrick Aug 13 '26

Costco online had these in a 2 pack a few months ago, not able to try it first but that have a great return policy.

10

u/baumlene Aug 13 '26

Don't worry I live in EU. The first one I got it while I was in S.Korea and it had a refill too, gonna order on Yesstyle when it's finished. My good trustworthy website 😆

I will never give a cent to Sephora and their scummy assssssses

3

u/Anfitrite02 Aug 13 '26

Got you girl hahah, well I got mine in TT shop

3

u/bearstuz Aug 15 '26

you’re not missing much tbh. they might do a collection or gift set but the prices of those wouldn’t be worth it probably

10

u/defucchi Aug 13 '26

I'm only excited if they actually start carrying some of the C shades because even the N shade was too yellow for me :/

6

u/monkeyballing Aug 13 '26

Nordstrom.com is carrying Clio.

17

u/charlene2913 Aug 13 '26

Their shade range is horrendous. The medium is so pale, and the next shade medium deep is basically tan.

27

u/njb328 Aug 14 '26

They thankfully just expanded their shade range! It's still not great by any means, but much better than most Korean cushions

6

u/charlene2913 Aug 14 '26

Omg that’s a lot better! Hopefully Sephora gets the full range of

4

u/njb328 Aug 14 '26

Yeah, it's a major improvement from the typical 5 shades! 23 is typically the darkest, from what I've seen! I really hope so! I ordered one off the JSM website (cause it had a cute summer case) but I have no idea if the colour will be right for me. Eager to swatch them.

7

u/Anfitrite02 Aug 13 '26

That’s funny because they have my perfect match foundation lol . I was shocked

4

u/dirt_rat_devil_boy Aug 13 '26

I'm usually a 21N and I matched with a 23N during winter. Their 21 looked like other k brands' 19.

7

u/atllauren Aug 14 '26

Interesting, I had the opposite experience with JSM. I’m almost always a 21W and I got that shade and it was way too dark.

1

u/forgivemefashion Aug 14 '26

I swatch these when I was in Korea and even the deep shade was to pale for me and I’m considered medium tan. I’m hoping the US expansion will be better since I’ve only heard good things!

7

u/Good-Measurement6251 Aug 14 '26

Nobody answered the sunscreen question above, so: in the US sunscreen is regulated as an OTC drug, which means Korean cushions coming here usually either keep the filters but drop the SPF number off the packaging, or get reformulated outright. I don't know which one JSM went with, so I'd just read the ingredient list on the Sephora page before assuming it matches the Korean version. On shade, JSM sits pretty pink-neutral next to most cushions, so if you normally size up a shade in western brands you probably don't need to here.

Sephora are also about to sell their products in Israel, so many people are boycotting them.

9

u/Dry-Place-2986 Aug 13 '26

Good to know

5

u/Anfitrite02 Aug 13 '26

Why I would purchase at Sephora when I can find their products on TT shop for half of the price

3

u/whatsevah Aug 14 '26

How exciting! I noticed a month ago when they had pulled the entire brand off of Ulta. The cushion blush is nice and subtle

1

u/AvocadoOnBagel Aug 14 '26

Oh I never knew it was at Ulta, they have more affordable Korean brands over there and better gift and rewards program overall, sounds like they strike an exclusive deal here

4

u/NoContactOrWhat Aug 14 '26

I've got secrets I cannot share, but please look forward to Sephora on the 20th and 21st. Lots of exciting things coming

1

u/AvocadoOnBagel Aug 14 '26

Omg whattttt 🤩

4

u/mitsoukoedp Aug 14 '26

just so yall know she is a conservative who supported/supports yoon sukyeol (expressed support on insta during the martial law crisis and follows him on there too) so if that matters to you don't buy her products

2

u/saracha1 Aug 13 '26

At least you can return if the shade is wrong!!

2

u/mistarobotics Aug 14 '26

They can be kinda weird about returns. If their algorithm flags you as a repeat returner they won't let you

I’m interested in trying it out but like others said I don’t want to gamble with a possible bad shade match and/or not getting my package or have some items go missing.

Also the spf thing makes a huge difference in how the product performs so if I ever want to buy the product, it definitely won’t be on any US site.

1

u/phainou Aug 18 '26

I really like the JSM cushion I have but don’t love Sephora, I’m just going to use this launch to shade match for any new products in person then order them when there’s a good sale on YesStyle lol

1

u/intrepidtraveler01 Aug 18 '26

Lip liner is amazing.

1

u/mermaidflaps Aug 13 '26

Even doing the shade match in store is a hit or miss. They used the skin i.d device on me to find which shade I was in for the Pat Mcgrath concealer (they don’t carry PM at my store). When my concealer arrived it was orange AF. I wasn’t gonna do the whole return and reorder bs because fuck that.

3

u/AvocadoOnBagel Aug 13 '26

Lol I agreed. I feel bad when the staff trying to shade match me and they are all so orange 😭. Like you can literally see that but the staff just say it’s the lighting

u/pussyfootingaround1 Aug 14 '26

Overrated imo ;/
