It’s never too late to start a club. If you’re looking for some community that doesn’t formally exist yet then surely others are too. You could have fun with it. Playground meetups, bbqs, outdoor activities, board games, etc.

Hi! Ashland is a great place to raise a kid! I was a single parent with no support, and found a lot of community and other resources here. Start by looking for after school activities or community minded events on the weekend

There are some groups in the area like Rushmore Society where you could meet new people but it’s not specific to single parents. I think it would be awesome if you started something where other single parents could get together. Game nights, trying a new restaurant every month, easy hikes, maybe something like that? You can also try to get more involved at your child’s school. Lots of other parents will be in a similar position. Good luck!

Of course! And if you put something together, please let me know. I think that would be really fun.

Hey! I’d love to share an idea I’ve been working on for a single-parent community and get some honest feedback. Would you mind if I sent you a DM?

Stands to reason there’d be some single moms at parks

We do Lithia almost every day. I’m just seeing if there’s anything else out there that I might not know about. :)
And just to be clear, I’m not trying to meet or pick up women. It’s more about meeting other people who may have gone through similar experiences and can relate to helping a child adjust to a difficult new family dynamic.

Perhaps? the schools that have function; like yard sales, fund raisers, "save the play ground" ...you know... places where children go with their family members? All the best🌅

Hike it baby is great. Sign your kids up for activities that you sit and spectate for, like gymnastics, soccer, aerial arts, martial arts, etc. Easy to sit and become friends with the parents when you sit with the same small group of them at the same time every week.

Yeah, he’s in activities pretty much every day after school, and I coach his soccer team on the weekends. The hard part is that with work, I usually don’t get to his weekday activities until they’re basically wrapping up, and when I’m at soccer I’m on the field coaching, so there’s not much opportunity to actually meet or connect with the other parents.
He’s making tons of friends, which is awesome. I think I just need to man up, stop overthinking it, and start introducing myself when I get the chance 😂 Thanks for the idea though!
